See execactly what I mean with typical turks. Agressive, uncontrolled and uneducated.
There are millions of Europeans who get along very well with Indians, Canadian, Vietnamese, Africans or people from where ever....But nobody likes turks.
Awesome documentary. though they forgot to mention about the big cat that has the ability to adapt almost everywhere. Yep, they forgot about the mighty Leopard XDD
@periesicsd Most canids (wolves, coyotes, wild dogs) usually rip the genitals and rectum area on big prey (moose for wolves etc) first as it is a easier more accessible high bleed site than the caratoid artery or jugular in the neck. This is how they kill large prey. It is the only way social group predators who predate on large prey can kill....slow bleed out till resistance is minimal. They dont wait for it to die before feeding by any means. Just weak enough to start the proccess
Despite the awesome footage, there are several unfounded sociobiological assumptions in this video. First, the Cape Buffalo are not "coming to the defense of a fellow herbivore", i.e., it is a function of clearing out a potential threat to the herd. That's it. Second, the hyena is not "cooperating" with the wild dogs. They are both out for their own self-interest. The hyena was badly outnumbered and simply did not act aggressively in order to realize a share of the kill.
@kmkfiction2 Yea she was outnumbered and let's asume she didn't attack cause of that...but than don't you find the dogs behaviour strange? They were more and didn't attack either. Anyways regardless of details it was still interesting and strange.
But I think this Hyena must have communicated some submissive body language when it started by pulling the head of the prey, i.e., the dogs thought they were positioned for the nutrient rich belly. Then I observed the hyena swiftly reposition itself into a better position. The dogs bristle. Still, the hyena seems to be relaxed.
The hyena's red face at 00:36 makes me wonder if that is where our image of the devil comes from. Yikes.
wow thanx so much for this whole thing, ive always had a huge interest in hyenas, always found them the most fascinating in the wild, great HD quality...very easy to follow all the videos!
@OSORIOO well ive always enjoyed hyenas because I think they are very distinct and dominant in the wild. Down to their unique noises they make to their hunting/scavenging habits, plus they have a very sleeper look I guess you could say, not terribly intimidating on first look but very fierce bite and strength in numbers!
Excellent set of vids, very interesting and well done.

That hyena in the first part is having some serious identity crisis. You are a hyena, not a wild dog, you ass!!

Not often you see a doco that talks about hyenas, wild dogs and jackals more than it does about lions.
TheBigBeavis 4 weeks ago
Very good, hyenas and wild dogs tend to be overlooked in wildlife films, but they are seriously significant in the environment.

@adznz11 Thus it is allways brutal. The last thing you want is to be prey for smaller group predators trust me.

"the hyena is not "cooperating" with the wild dogs"
Yes of course they are cooperating. They cooperated in the hunt/kill of the female Kudu. Do you know what cooperating means?
and no duh they are acting on self-interest, that is what animals do.
