Same pakistan refused to even accept the bodies of its dead soldiers lest the involvement of its regulars would be exposed in the Kargil affair, leaving it to us to bury their dead. At least this time, they have given a decent burial to the dead.

If on the otherhand, NATO forces decided to play the same denial game as Pak and caused some real damage or declare a war on Pak outright then it could be called severe punishment. What I dont understand is why is US or the collective NATO forces so afraid of Pak? The whole world knows that Pak has no delivery system that can bring nukes to our western hemisphere so why not bomb them and take away their nukes? Atleast the rest of the world can breath easily.

Hey man, I can hardly call this "severe and punishing". Niether media nor govt of pakistan can be trusted. How transparent have they been in the past? US media says that the attack was in retaliation for the fire from across the border. So who to trust? And listening to many NATO soldiers' view in the last few years that, pak army and ISI are complicit with terrorcells, it would be safe to assume that NATOs actions were defensive. So it was not really a severe punishment.

The attack was very very severe and punishing. A completely demoralizing use of overwhelming force on a sleeping enemy is very cold and almost sounds revenge to me. I gather that lot of firepower was used to nullify any semblance of counterattack. Whoever planned and lead the attack knew exactly what he was doing. My respects to him.Excellent Sir!

Thanks for the video, you seem to be very knowledgeable about this subject and that helps a great deal in trying to figure out exactly what will happen. I seem to sense that this is all bark and no bite that the Pakistan govt. is doing, I mean they let the US bomb women and children from this airbase and nothing is done about it so why should it change now. I also remember last Sept. when 7 soldiers were killed at a checkpoint in the same fashion, same old show with same dog.

That ordering of the Shamsi Airbase raises another question. When the Abbottabad raid took place and everyone suspected that the American attack helicopters had refueled at Shamsi, the Pakistani air Force chief stunningly revealed in the National Assembly that the Shamsi airbase was no longer in Pakistani possession and was under the control of the UAE since the 90s ! So much for sovereignty !

But, the UAE immediately called the Pakistani bluff when it denied that it had any operational role in the Shamsi airfield, although, the official, said wealthy Arabs have occasionally used it to fly to Pakistan on hunting expeditions. Earlier, when similar news broke out in c. 2005, the UAE was similarly upset about such leaks. Gen. Tommy Franks has written in his book that the Shamsi airfield belonged to Sheikh Zayed.

US violated TSP Honor & Dignity with impunity and to rub salt to the wound, apologized for it. In the coming days, TSP will huff and puff, US will throw a few H&D soothing dog bones, and TSP will grin and move on. In other words, US will follow a true Chankyan policy of carrots & sticks.
