  • @bolchisb The 3516 genset's full power is 2.2MW all the others you see(2.0, 1.6, etc...) are just different application ratings. You have gensets rated for Prime, Standby and Constant. Depending on the application, let's say the engine only sees a couple of hours of work then gets shut off for a while (long cooldown) then you can run it at full power 2.2MW... but if you use it 24/7 to power your village up north, if you run it on 2.2MW youll wear it prematurely. Some people have tried and failed

  • @CamryWilly I'm sorry i don't understand what you mean. This gen set is designed to run 24/7 yes? what is the life expectancy if properly maintenance is done?

  • Rotary Engine is better!!! ^_^

  • @neosmith80 Not quite sure how. BSFC is WAAAAAY more for same power output. This is about 2800bhp

  • yeah...thats caterpillar genset, how about komatsu generator set, have u ever seen

  • Well guys, don't want to disappoint you, but I've never seen anything impressive as the Mitsubishi S-16R PTA (the one rated about 1450 kw equipped with water exchangers for intake air)

In front of my eyes that engine, equipped with a GAC ESD5550 RPM governor (the original was delayed...) took LTP power (pure resistive load) in one single step, dropping only 5 hz...

  • there's a brand new one to the right of it I think. Still in wraps.

  • it can't be 2MW, i've search on google and the biggest one is 1.6MW

  • @bolchisb search harder because cat makes a 2MW generator. They also make a 2.25MW genset. I load test for a company that builds generator units and I have ran plenty of those 3516 2MW cats.

  • CAT 2 MW will consume approximately 150gals/hr or 570Litres/ hr under full (100%) load

  • Looks like it has an exhaust leak...

  • yes model 3516

present install completed but load usage around 30%.

every month test generator on load use fuel at 400 litres per hours.

  • looks like a 3516 to me.

  • 3512 or 3516
