@jtschid0910 any jig will do it. You have to remove the moon or flat nock and put in a regular nock from an aluminum arrow.. After you fletch the bolt pull out the nock and put your other nock back in.
great video bro!! i watch alot of your vids.. there really helpfull.. i would like to open up a bow shop in my home state of Georgia..any tips??? where can i go to learn alot about archery??
I'm getting into traditional archery but with carbon arrows and would really like to figure out how to fletch beings the nearest archery shop is four hours away
I've never had a problem with it. I tried to boil them off but it just didn't work out that great. I keep the blade good and flat against the shaft so I don't dig in.
Steele force is my fave,I dumped the bohning platnum after trying this stuff. If you use the spry accelerator that come w/it the arrows are shootble within mere minutes. Great vidio thanks for sharing.
Great video. I took off a dozen wraps last night, quickly. Boiled a large pot of water. While boiling placed end of the arrow in the boiling water for about 20 seconds, pulled out and wrap peeled right off. No affect to the arrow or nock. Used a rag to rub the rest of the glue off the arrow. Works great!
Option 1) Soak in hot tap water for approximately five minutes. Peel ArroWrap off. Option 2) Heat ArroWrap with hair dryer until soft. Peel ArroWrap off. Option 3) Scrape ArroWrap off using Bohning's new "Stripper" tool. Always clean and prep shaft after removing ArroWrap."
Maybe 1) or 2) could work on your Battledrum wraps? Worth a try atleast.
Better visibility in low light if you use a bright wrap like white or yellow or florescent colors. They also allow for better vane and feather adhesion.
You can speed things up by using the fast set glue and you can also use a bohning tower jig or an Arizona ez-fletch. both put all 3 feathers on at once.
Thanks for posting this, man! I'm going to start getting into building my own arrows from both wood and carbon and this video was VERY helpful!

Do you need a specific type of jig to fletch both arrows and crossbow bolts or will just any jig do?

how do you curve fletchings after if you have a straight jig. do u use elastics?
SuperArcheryMan 10 months ago
Use a hairdryer on the wrap and this will melt the glue just a little bit and allow you to simply peel it off (fletchings and all)

what is the benefits of using an arrow wrap compared to just the bare shaft?
behemoth421 1 year ago
Better visibility, and it lets your feathers/vanes adhere better.

I don't know about using a razor blade to do that. Seems like you could accidentally shave some of the shaft itself off.

Have you tried just to peal off the wrap? Leave the fletching on the wrap and it'll go really quickly.
DrChrisBiomed 2 years ago
These wraps were made by Battledrum and when they go on an arrow they stay on. With some of the others I can peel them off but not these.

From Bohnings site:
"Removing ArroWraps:

Do you have a better way of quickly refletching an arrow? And most manufacturers stress not using harsh chemicals when refletching...
