  • This is common on CRF's with titanium intake valves. You'll need to have the valve seats professionally cut and new valves installed. Check out CRF's Only (Google us). We use state of the art Newen CNC valve seat cutting equipment. We also offer new heads, head reconditioning, port & polish, valve seat and guide replacement, and full race head services. If you are looking for extreme valve durability we can outfit your head with stainless steel valves at the same time we cut your valve seats.

  • yo man! my 09 crf250r ate valves up and i took care of that thing so much! oil every 2 rides, filter every ride and i had to adjust the valves every 2 hours! i ride it hard but that is ridiculous! my left intake always went out of spec. i ended up moving to kawasaki

  • My crf250 2004 only push starts the kickstart wont start it and when it is warmed up the kickstart rarely starts it, but starts right up push starting it, could this be the valves????

  • @yamster88

Yeah it will be your valves , you can shim them but usually when valves start to go then its really time for a whole new valves job .. good luck with your bike anyways .. i had the same problem as you , bike would never start from kick but would bump start ..re shimmed and it kicked 1st time BUT the clearence went again after a few hours needing new valves..

  • @yamster88 hey man sell that bike its the worst year for the crf250r i promise i had an o4 nevver cpould keep it runnin bought a o9 never had a problem

  • I have a 2006 Honda crf250r and I love it! I have had it since 2008. I will tell you this, I had valve issues with mine at first... They used to get out of spec in very little time. When I rebuilt my top end, I got the Kibblewhite Black Diamond Series Valves and Valve Spring. I re did my top end last year in April, and i haven't had to adjust my valves since. I ride hard, and i ride a lot aswell. Get Stainless steel Valve Train and you won't have this issue

  • @WaWagasman i have the same valve set too and there the best, add hot cams valve shims and they make all the difference

  • @DW0668 Most definatley. I wish I would've gotten a Hotcam at the time of the rebuild. and yes, I do have Hotcam valve shims. Did you replace your cam chain aswell?

  • @WaWagasman no lol but i may in the near future

  • @DW0668 haha, I didn't neither. My bottom end just went bad on the bike though :(

  • get a kawi

  • @KawiKid757 I had an 08 kx250f just got a 2010 crf250r. Trust me... get a honda:)

  • happens to all crf250 x and 250r after a while, need to use steel valves

  • get a 2 stroke...... :)

  • get kible white SS valves, the bike im gettin has them and there barely ever out of spec, but you should still check them periodicaly. but the down side is it cost the guy $1500 because he didnt know how to change them him self.

  • I looked at my valves today, and my right intake barely took a .002

  • god this bike is a pain the valves go for me every 200 miles... im not a hard rider and i was just looking for a nice trail bike. i didn't want a bike i have to pay 105 bucks every week.

  • your dealer probably recommends a valve adjustment after the 25 hour break in period. you will normally tighten up a little during the break in period

  • all the problem is that there is carbon on the valve

  • Would ur bike start when this happened???

  • mine fuckin did that.. right intake.. so i changed the shims and then the bike had no power.. then i changed the shims again and now im w8in 2 ride it 2 c if it has power again.. ill get bak 2 u if it dusent lol... ani 1 got any ideas??

  • @fishbulb1992...anytime you re-shim your valves, make sure you check the shim with a micrometer to make sure that the shim measurement is correct...even though a shim may read "192", when measured may only be 1.84. It's happened to me before and it's a PIA!!! I'll post a video with more details.

  • How hard do you ride?

I see nothing out of the ordinary. Just shim the exhaust back to .011. and the left intake to .005 as normal maintenance. The left intake is barely out of spec. The spec is .005 + - .001, which means .006 or .004 is acceptable. The measurement of .003 just needs adjusted by re-shimming. This is normal maintenance for any modern 4-stroke MX bike. If you ride hard, you need to check the valve clearance every 10 hrs.

  • my valves just went on mine... 2nd time ive had a problem with them

  • @RIDEaCRF250X

I think my CRF250R has a valve problem as well :(

  • to top dead center

  • whats tdc

  • Yes you want the lobs facing backwards. but it needs to be TDC on the COMPRESSION stroke as dobent4 said.

  • You are NOT at compression TDC. Stop.

    See your CrfsOnly reply.

  • No his cam lobes are facing back. It is in the correct position.

  • yeah ur right because the cam lobes should be facing toward the exhaust valves and it may not be in time either check ur timing
