@nicknight2000 Actually this isn't illegal. The highway code states to "signal when necessary" . New drivers are taught not to signal when moving off because if you have to signal then generally it isn't safe move off. The exception is when there is heavy traffic and you need to ask to be let out. Thought I'd set the record straight as many people liked this comment and must presumably think it is breaking the law.
The people who 'dis' the police are allways the first oe running to them when something bad happenss to them like they get robbed or are involved in a R.T.I they are the first to point the finger.
Part of police work within traffic; is educating the public on road safety - in this case the officer in question obviously works this area a lot - he knows his job well. Issuing a ticket might have provoked him to just do it again, as a "told you I can do it" gesture.
Personally I would of given the ticket if it was in my district because dangerous drivers need to be taken off the road, in any circumstance, under any condition - in my opinion - that's coming from another traffic cop.
your a traffic cop at 21 years of age?? yeah right, you have to do at least four years on the beat before you can put your name down to become a traffic cop, also the youngest traffic cop in england is 26 and he is based in south yorkshire, your just a wannabe
as long as the guy learnt his lesson, i dont see a problem with the way the cop spoke to him. he was lucky it was a traffic cop with quick reactions and not a lorry which would've ended in tears. i say thats good policing. and as for the idiot who said he'd of 'dropped' the copper, he should really get a life. hopefully it'll only be yourself you kill when you do have that accident.
Great Cop. What these drivers forget is that the same Cops has to go to tell his wife/mother/kid that he was killed in an accident. That's an awful thing to have to do.
what a fucking mummys boy wots his problem i drive like that all the time an iv never killed anyone, yeah iv had a few little offs but who hasnt, that gobshite wants a fuckin good hiding and if i were driving that badboy ashuming he could catch me id of dropped that prat for his attitude, and you wankers deserve the same fuckin puffs
yeah, eggbog... I've seen enough dead idiots to know it's always the morons like you who think it can't happen to them... well, it does, eventually. Then you get 20 people boo-hooing and putting a cross on the roadside at the spot where your brain gets impacted into a fence post!
I'd drop you the instant I saw you, prick. Driving like that puts people in a very serious, dangerous position. How would you feel if you killed your Mother because you were dicking about on the road.
i agree with the police officer....however he should of got a ticket in anyways and threatened him to have his car impounded if he came "just that little bit over again". Because THAT warning would make me rethink my driving especially if its a sports car!
Legend! Good work! Blokes lucky he didnt get knocked of for careless. Still the officer used his discretion and hopefully got a good result in the end, if his message sunk in!
Traffic cops are class! They are exempt from any speed law, that's why they drive as fast as they like. There are loads of bad drivers on the road. I wish there were more of them around to educate coz some people need their licenses taken off them
elise driver is a twat for driving the way he did with a total lack of skills, you just dont push the limits like that on the roads. Sure i drive fast but with plenty of grip, space and time in reserve. Go to a track if you want to find the limit £120/day is lot cheap than losing your license or worse.
S122 OCC got off lightly foolish driving is the major cause of RTA`s and a fiber-glass bodied car affords little / no protection in a crash; a ticket AND an insurance Hike would work better ive spammed the contemptous comments to this worthwhile as such deadheaded types arent worthy of any other response, Good Policework.
the police r good people and i have a lot of respect for them at the age of 13.If that idiot in the Lotus wasnt speeding then he wouldnt of got stopped. The cops save thousands of lives every year and u lot start disrespecting them!Isnt it time u lot started showing gratitude?!
Why was he? He wasn't the one who could have killed someone (even himself) by driving like that. What if he had hit a motorcyclist? Or crashed the car at that speed?
The officer did the right thing. He informed the man about his wreckless behaviour, he gave statistics of people's deaths on British roads because of people driving like he did, and he refused to give the man a ticket. He did the right thing.
Perhaps if michaeloflaherty was a police officer, paramedic or fire fighter who has pulled a dead body out of wrecked vehicle or passed a death message to a next of kin he'd understand. As someone who has done both, I know why we 'pick on easy targets'...
who does this traffic cop think he is insulting this innocent man who wasonly driving his beautiful sports car, and this poor bloke was driving carefully around the corners and still this power hungry police man just had to pick on a easy target.
Most probably a traffic cop that has, alongwith fire fighters and paramedics, pulled dead adults and childrens from crashed vehicles. If a biker had been going up that bend they'd have been wiped out. By your comment i'd suggest you've neither lost a loved one thanks to a dangerous driver or ever pulled a body out of a wrecked vehicle, as such, who do you think you are?

He knows he is wrong. Writing him the ticket and let him be on his way. The ticket is the penalty for speeding not a lecture. Wow.

no because they have to deal with arrogant pricks everyday there called motorists.
Q: who's the greatest driver in the world?
A: any motorist you ask that question to!
so if they do occassionally go off on one like this officer did it's perfectly understandable, in the case very justly.
