Man, I could never get into those puzzle games. First one I had was Beyond Atlantis. I got a couple worlds in but lost interest. And oh btw, equal armed crosses were common through history long before Christianity. Entertaining stuff though Spaz! Looking forward to part 2. :)
In later Myst games, especially Uru, Cyan Worlds got REALLY full of themselves and decided. "Hey, let's NOT make puzzles anyone could figure out if they think outside of the box a bit and take notes, let's make some completely bs butt fuck puzzles instead to really screw the player! We can just pass it off as being 'deep' and 'involving' and they'll all eat it up like fat kids to donuts!"
@RabidKanid I'm thinking it's more a case of attempting to raise the bar, because all the puzzles are logical. Having said that, some Myst 4's puzzles are stupidly difficult, and that desert puzzle in Uru Live, forget it.
@spazfox Try figuring out how to get into that Vault, the proper time to be in those observatory pods, the glow in the dark floor or weights in the pyramid, and yes that entire desert area you mentioned in another post for Uru.
As far as I can tell a lot of them require you to be familiar with things like the D'ni numbering system, how their clocks work, being able to read their language to an extent, etc.
@RabidKanid Riven has the best puzzles, I think. They don't lead you around by the nose with obvious clues like in Myst, but they're intuitive and make sense.
@callmesora I'd rather play the offline version as, not only is it more consistent with the rest of the series to go it alone, there's also less likelihood of an hour-long episode having to be scrapped 55 minutes in due to connection issues or bugs.
The ending hasn't been written?
Is this the Neverending Story?

I've only played Myst 1 and Uru though.

@RabidKanid And hard puzzles presented to a drunk will make for good videos. I'm looking forward to Myst 4.

well, atleast in Uru, you can leave via your Relto Book.
I would say more, but I fear anymore will bring forth the spoiler police.

@callmesora No worries. I'll be making vague spoiler hints throughout the series.

@spazfox if you continue to play the rest of the series up to Uru, will you be playing the Offline or the Uru Live Again version?
If the later, there are some puzzles that can't be done alone, so will you be getting people to help you out on those specific puzzles?
