  • WTF are they complaining about? Their own nuclear power plant spewed more radiation on them.

We don't need to be there anyway. Let Japan pay for its own defense.

  • Japan caused Pearl Harbor which resulted in their A-bombing.. now they complain about it?

  • Japanese are stupid because they forget how America nuke them.

  • Fuck Emperialism. *hint, hint, America*

  • A carrier borne Nuclear reactor is much safer than an armed nuclear weapon launched against Japan!!!

  • lol funny

  • i dont think anyone would like radiation sickness dumb jap bitch

  • Well...... if that's not the definition of irony given what we know now lol.

  • these protesters are commies.

  • Yes, let's not allow nuclear submarines or air craft carriers near Japan. Let's instead build nuclear power plants near the fault lines of the tectonic plates.

  • @groam6666 Lol, this was over 3 years ago, and most Japanese people support US military projection in that area of the world.

  • nuclear accident eh? LOLOLOLOL

  • @MajorDDS a "curse" yes you are right. though as i mistyped- it's ironically a course as we now witness. now, regulation and safety- even in Japan- was inadequate. I walk out on the limb in saying Japan likely has some of the best engineering and implementation in nuclear facilities and knows all to well the pitfalls of the nuclear age. as reliance on nuclear power remains inescapable, we all must reconcile this as we move forward as we demand energy into the future.

  • Aparently, the nuclear accident came from home and not from the USA ship. Additionally, a ship having a meltdown can be towed out to sea. It is a little safer.

Lastly, the ship was made to keep working even after being hit by missles, etc. Not bad.

  • now a nuclear powered US Aircraft carrier is anchored outside Sandei after the quake, aiding Japanese, as we pray for them. nuclear power is both a blessing and course, as a serious situation unfolds before us in Japan. Realize the juxtaposition brought by a nuclear-based fleet aiding in humanitarian relief as a nuclear catastrophe of some measure unfolds.

  • this is pretty much how it goes. Japan self defense force does what it's name says. It's for self defense purposes. If another nation threatens them. the united states has their backing.

  • I believe it is the seepage of this radio active material that has resurrected GODZILLA from the depths of Tokyo Bay. Yes, the Japanese have much to fear! G O D Z I L L A !!

  • Fuck them, America should let the Japs fend for themselves, lets see how that works. :D

  • Also, the amount of radiation that WE consume, as operators who are constantly working with the plant on a daily basis, is less than the amount of radiation one would consume if they were just standing out in the sun. Rest assured Japan, you are in safe hands, though we understand your wariness of nuclear power after the terror your grandparents or great grandparents must have experienced.

  • Hey guys, just to let you know that I am training to become a nuclear engineer for the US navy, and rest assured that any navy operated nuclear power vessel is completely harmless (radiation wise) and under the hands of highly, highly trained professionals. In the last 60 YEARS that the navy has been underway on nuclear power, we have not had a SINGLE nuclear incident. That is because we know the heavy responsibility we carry, and we don't want to lose such a powerful advantage we have.

  • WEll if Japan doesn't like it, they can LUMP IT. Japan shold not forget that they attacked us first on December 7, 1941

  • @3dartistguy No one gives a flying shit about a war that happened 60 years ago.

  • there worried about bealth risks from an air craft carrier...yet they eat whales and dolphins loaded with lead and mercury? wheres the common sense?

  • I saw the Kitty Hawk before. It was in Yokoska Naval Base, and it was HUGE.

  • Just 300 protestors, that's pretty small, but Most Japanese welcome the Americans into their country, including the Military.

  • A crime against humanity by dropping atomic bombs on Japan, thereby saving an estimated million plus lives if the planned invasion had gone forward? I don't think so. Dropping the bombs was the right decision. As for arrogance, I don't know. Definition: "an attitude of superiority manifested in an overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims or assumptions". We may have an overbearing manner (too bad), but our 'attitude of superiority' is justified. We are.

  • You arrogant Americans!

  • That is only a very small portion of Japanese protesting. Most Japanese welcome the U.S. If we where not here then they would be speaking Korean or Chinese for what they did to them during the war

  • There goes that American arrogance again! Japan doesn't need the U.S now. The bulk of those US sailor's are hormone enraged drunkards over there trying to get some Japanese women pregnant. Except the marines who just pay for hookers. The Japanese have paid their war debt! US Military needs to get out of there before those drunks melt down their nuclear reactor!

  • lastphcm,

I wouldnt call it arrogance! Have you ever been to Japan? ( maybe you have ) Japan doesn't have an Army. They have a Self Defense Force but what can they actually if they are attacked? It's not a bulk of sailors it's just a few. Your prolly right about the marines though!!! The bulk of Japanese people want us here to protect them.

  • Stating Japan needs the US Military there is to American ARROGANCE. I am sure the US would have defeated Japan in WWII but Japanese surrender came because of a US crime on humanity; the dropping of the A bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is why it is TOTAL arrogance and disrespectful to have this nuclear powered aircraft carrier in Japan. The destruction caused by these bombs was beyond yours and American policy maker's comprehension, otherwise they wouldn't have considered it.

  • Yeah you are right lastphcm....Lets just forget about Pearl Harbor and the many POW camps where Americans died. You think we where the only ones trying to get an A-bomb? We where just the first to use ours. We as Americans are lucky. I'm not as sure as you are that America would've defeated them. Who knows?? 505boi is right.. The GW took over where the Kitty Hawk left off.

  • Im in yokosuka right now. the Japanese love us the percentage that dont like us is very small. We bring money into town. I personally cant stand the Crew of CVN-73 because they're idiots who dont know how to conduct themselves in bars, and they got my drinking spot shut down. but out in the Honch (off base bar district) they love them. The only girls that I ever see get knocked up right away are honchrats and flip nasties. most of these guys out here marry their japanese women.

  • melt down there reactor should be scaried of our own haha.

  • @klperry863 but then again, if usa hadnt bombed them, they would dominate all of asia and thus everyone speaking japanese.

  • @Kleeeenex1 well not really, i think the war would have dragged out Longer we (USA) would still have won.

we should have dropped it on iwojima that would have ade more sense.

anyway we still have a strong Friendship & hopefully always will.

  • @MetalHeart8787 maybe but it was wrong of usa to bomb them when it wasnt even their business, hawaii is not even close to usa same with alaska, both Polynesian & Asian territory.

  • @Kleeeenex1 what wasn't our Business? the war?

don't be Blind, the us was called cowards for staying out of the war as long as we did.

"close" has NOTHING to do with it, it was a US base!

Alaska we bought off of Russia, they Never dispute that.

WTF you talking about!? first you said if we didn't they would have dominated Then you say it was wrong.

well i think it was wrong too But we can't change the past. Have to focus on the Future

  • @klperry863 those are probably the descendants who still wants a Strong JAPANESE EMPIRE

  • and you don't think any americans live in japan?

  • Doesn't the Japanese Navy have Nuclear Carriers? If so, then why are they worried?

Relax this time the nuke is friendly, OK sorry, that was kinda wrong.

  • No, Japan has no nuclear carriers. It doesn't have any carriers full stop, by constitution. I imagine you'd be a touch worried if a foreign country stationed a nuclear reactor in a major population area correct? Nuclear reactor, nuclear bomb, the same result if there is a breach. Remember Chenobyl? If I had a nuclear reactor stationed in my neighbourhood, I'd be damn angry too if my own nation wasn't able to keep an eye on it for so much as basic safety. Put yourself in thier shoes.

  • I guess, i thought Japan's navy at least had a Carrier force, they used to have one of the best!

  • The Post War constitution of 1945 forbid any carrier construction or utilisation by Japan in an effort to define the military forces around defence and to reduce the ability to bring war to other places. Thought this was common knowledge?

  • I knew their military was almost entirley cut. But I thought that it would be less strict now.

  • It is in a way, they're getting around it via technicalities and renaming. They have what they call a "Helicopter Destroyer" which almost looks indentical to the HMS Invincible, an aircraft carrier, minus the ramp for VTOL planes. But overturning a constitution is near impossible, just look how sacred the American constitution and each of its little lines are, the Senate changing it is unthinkable to the average American, you're basically surmounting the same as an offhand action. Same thing.

  • Japan doesnt have any Nuclear Carriers !

  • it's here for protection, especially with all this talk about nkorea's testing

if anything happens, the ship will act

  • No they don't protect us.

See the response video below the video clip.

  • Replying to ur video

    1. Earth Quake can Damage a Carrier???? WTF?

    2. A Reactor Failure is nothing like a Nuclear Explosion.

    3. US troops are in Japan to be dispatched to Afghanistan and Iraq.... RIGHT.....

I am pretty sure the US 6th Fleet, inside the Mediterranean sea are for that. not the US 7th fleet, which is stationed in the Pacific, several Thousand kilometers away from Iraq or Afghanistan.

  • I don't know why this ass holes talk so much shit when they have 55 units of nuclear plants.

  • Most of those protestors are Anti-Japan Korean activists who disguise themselves as Japanese. They are born and raised in Japan and ordinarily use one or more Japanese names. They always claim that they'e been discriminated by Japanese and JPN's govenment.

  • what they did was disrespectful, I hate people like that damn.

  • I bet if japan goes into war they gonna be asking the US for protection, and guess what, our carriers are going to be the first on the line. stupid hypocritical bitches.

  • They could park it in my driveway, I would love it. I am most of the people of Japan welcome the ship.

  • You are brainwashed by Douglas McArthur. ha,ha,ha.

  • cant say i blame them

  • japan... you want protection? well, the US goes no where without style! and diesel/steam powered carriers is just not stylish!

so accept it, or kiss China's ass...

  • You're dumb. Many people already know Americans or Canada, English speaking countries are dictating the world and we know who are behind this turmoil since world war 1. The truth is, English speaking countries are virtually brainwashed compare to none english speaking countries.

  • Japan is being kind of hypocritical since it has over 10 nuclear power plants at least 3 of which are in the Tokyo area.

  • jajaja, yeah.

  • that's true not to mention there was a small nuclear accident last year somewhere outside of tokyo that caused the plant to shut down killing around 5 workers there. I remember this because I'm still here now.

  • There just a bunch of hippys that want attention.

  • lol they should welcome the ship

  • Make that 2 nuke plants Japan, lol. I can tell you I sure as hell will not miss this iron POS on the sky line of Norfolk.

  • make that a huge steel architecture carrying a nest of 72 hornets worth of safety. I'd miss that anyday.

  • Since the commissioning of USS Nautilus in 1955, there has been no significant nuclear incident on a U.S. warship. CVNs are superbly engineered ships, operated by highly trained officers and crew.

In a war threat situation, the carrier group would immediately head out to sea, well away from civilian populations.

  • Awesome you can hear the band play anchors aweigh at the end

  • those people are retarded. Do they not know that there is no radiation on the ship?

  • Welcome to Japan! USS George Washington, CVN-73

     FREE TIBET FUCK CHINA!!

  • everyone should be free. not just tibet.

stop thinking as nationalities and think human species.

the greatest threat to the human race, is each other. we must realize that a small group of people are truly in control of the world, not "governments" or the people, but corporations and bankers, royalty, would want to stay in power. but until we realize we are all just one and must work together, peace will never happen.

  • @SagaSolaris2667 hahaha i love this comment xD!

  • Speaking of dangerous things, do not eat any Cadbury Chocolate from China, it has the same bad poison in it that the baby formula had. I personally am trying to not eat anything from China.......I am too scared to.

  • Oh come on now, this is different from the Bomb. For one thing, this is a cleaner ship, less pollution, plus when they are being attacked, they can start up a nucleur ship immediately, instead of waiting for hours to be able to move, like the USS Kitty Hawk. Get a grip folks.
