Many people have built homes and lived in them for a few generations. You cannot simply ask all Israelis at this point to just pack up and leave.

On 11/5/08 it was reported that "Israeli troops crossed into the Gaza Strip late last night near the town of Deir al-Balah. The Israeli military said the target of the raid was a tunnel that they said Hamas was planning to use to capture Israeli soldiers positioned on the border fence 250m away." Operation Cast Lead did not begin until Dec. 27, 2008.

@popiedo The blockade of Gaza is not about collective punishment but rather to contain those who are bound by their very charters to eliminate Jews and Israel. If the situation were reversed I can guarantee that no Jew would even be alive. And that "diet" crap in pure BS. Gaza has stores overflowing with food and have among the highest rates of obesity in the world -- and that is well documented. All your other statements don't hold up to scrutiny either.

@popiedo Israel's main goal was to block arms. There are certain building supplies and certain foods which, for some reason, have been disallowed. But there is no denying the fact that markets are filled to the brim with overflowing food and the obesity levels in Gaza are among the very highest in the world. Quoting people who talk tough hardly adds credibility - nor does Wikipedia.

@loocoot actually it was reported that people on the other ships were tasered,gun butted and attacked, again the Israel tapes show highly edited footage a few minutes out of over a hour+ event. Not to mention they attempted to board at 4am in the morning along with cutting off all communication, confiscating all evidences that would counter the IDF claims as well, while disallowing reporter to talk to the witnesses. Even more evidence showing the IDF fired on the ship first.

I'm not sure if living off others is a correct analogy to use in this instance. Much of the land was stolen from the Palestinians, and like i said before i don't believe the creation of Israel was just. But at the same time the Israelis that live in this region has done so for a long time, many of them have built businesses and have contributed much to society.

@ranchai100 I don't believe the creation of Israel was just. But you have to take into account that it has been 88 years since the mandate for Israel was passed. Many people have built homes and lived in them for a few generations. You cannot simply ask all Israelis at this point to just pack up and leave.
The problem with the Israeli administration is that the system itself is unjust. There isn't a single candidate that would change their policies.

But yes, i agree it was unjust. But like i said before it has been some time since that happened. If colonization is unjust (which i agree it is) and we should give all the land back to its rightful owners, well how far back do we go?
