I'm not sure what 'spec opp teams or TAG groups' means ... However i do know that this was shot by my friend Traxel from our condo. The Black Hawk helicopters were in the Sydney CBD for 3 or 4 days prior to a four-day visit to Australia by the United States Vice President Dick Cheney in February 2007.
Spec Ops is short for Special Operations, most commonly, they are either SAS, Commandos, Naval Clearance Divers or some other specialist military unit. TAG stand for Tactical Assault Group. They are the Australian SAS Counter Terrorist Unit. The boys in black! Look up "TAG East" or something like that. Im sure there is a vid on here about them.
These Helo's are from 171 Sqn they work with the Commando's SASR and TAG teams they are a special unit within the Army Aviation Circles and they fly out of Holsworthy Barracks, on the other hand they could be from 5th Av Reg which is based in Townsville in Queensland none fly from Kapooka and if they were near there they would have to land at the RAAF base in Wagga.
