  • Go to ldschurchdotcom for the honest Truth abt the Mormons, not enemies of the Church. Or mormonchurchdotorg for Truth.

1,800 exmos are a tiny dent in the more than 13,000,000 membership of the Church. OK, I know that most of the time, abt 50% of the membership is inactive, but that ties in nicely with the Parable of The Ten Virgins...5 were ready & prepared to meet the Bridegroom (Jesus at His second coming) & the other 5 were not & had to miss the wedding feast. The Bride is the Church. : )

  • @Yunginspirit

You are not quite accurate in your position of numbers. There are far more exmormons in the world than there are Mormons. According to estimates based on growth and retention figures, only 35-40% of Mormon membership is even active. With individuals remaining on the rolls up to age 110, even the dead are counted in the Mormon figures. Why do that? Why not be honest instead of fudging the numbers? One should expect better from the universe's only "true" church. Truth matters.

  • @Exmormon: Ms Emmitt mentioned the number 1,800 in one of these vids (I know that there are much more in total) so I was going by what she was referring to.

  • @Yunginspirit

Then you made the same mistake in your thinking that you do when listening to the Mormons. Don't you think your own thoughts? It's quite easy to deduce that there are MORE exmormons in the world than Mormons, one does not need an official pronouncement from the Mormon monolith to obtain that idea and information.

    Please research.

  • How many people have you baptized Yunginspirit?

  • Mormons know that we cannot become perfect in this life...no one can. Jesus is the only perfect one. The LDS are the most giving, charitable, humanitarian Church in the world...that is common knowledge. Fast Offering donations of millions of $s per yr go to devastated Nations like Haiti and Chili and the US, and not only that, they send tons of food, clothing, tents, medical help and supplies and volunteers, etc. They are amazing.

  • @Yunginspirit

Actually dear defender, this is a very precarious position for you to be in regarding your claims concerning the finances of the Mormon Church. Mormon Inc. does not disclose its finances and those figures it does provide regarding their charity work are simply not verifiable without primary financial source documents to support them. Perhaps you should ask the question of your religion why it is that they do no disclose this information to you, as a tithe paying member? Why hide?

  • As an example, even the 7th Day Adventists disclose their finances to their membership & publish those figures to the world on their website. Why would the "true" church not be more forthcoming than a religion which is not true according to Mormon claims? As a Mormon, you should know where your donations are going don't you think? Or are you normally in the habit of giving large sums of money to a group of strangers who tell you nothing more than, "trust us."

It's not what it claims to be.

  • @Exmormon: I'll try and find the article for you re the survey, but you could try Google it.

  • @Exmormon: You can read abt our Charitable efforts in Church publications Ensign, Church News, Meridian Magazines on BYTV and/or radio and glean from other sources. We don't advertise them to the world.

  • "We don't advertise them to the world." The ____ they don't! I, myself, have been involved in charitable works done by church members, and part of the planning is ALWAYS a PR to the local press -- always!! I could name dozens of times I've seen pictures and articles in (cont)

  • newspapers across the country, and every single one of them happened because of press releases that went out to local newspapers. And why do you think the pictures often show everyone wearing T-shirts that name the church? You are VERY naive -- about a lot of things concerning the church.

  • Yes, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Catholic church dwarfs anything the Mormons do.

  • She told many half truths, some lies and did not reveal all the facts or full details of a number of things. If she had done so some of these folks would have become Mormons! : )

  • @Yunginspirit

Please research. And please remember it is very important to support your claims with evidence. Without evidence, there is no reason to believe the claims or the claimant, they are just empty stories.

Mormonism is simply not what it claims to be. Please research.

    All the best, -EMF

MormonThink d o t c o m may prove beneficial to you in your studies.

  • Well, like Boyd Packer said, some truths are not helpful......

  • I suppose then that if you Yunginspirit were there you would have succeeded in re-baptizing the whole lot?

  • @exmoagogo - no, I haven't.

  • Everything a Mormon learns is illogical brainwashing. What other religion keeps a report card and stores it away? I suppose the Mormon God would not remember everything, he's just an exhalted man.

  • When I left the church the questions people asked me were "Who offened you? Did someone say something that hurt your feelings?" Like I was that thin skinned that I would run away if someone said something to me that I didn't like.

What the young family went through in leaving Mormonism is something that happens to many people who leave. It's very sad, but true.

  • All of her comments are true!

    Thanks exmo. keep it up.
