  • Actually, eating healthier, while a good idea, is of very limited value in fighting free radicals, because the antioxidants in such foods and vitamins, being direct antioxidants, can neutralize free radicals on a 1-to-1 basis, and since our bodies produce 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,00­0 free radicals each day, we can not eat near enough fruits and vegetables, or take enough vitamin pills, to make a noticeable dent in the problem.
