  • Colombia is a normal country, beautiful and very friendly people, but the tv only speaks bad things , its like the image that we all have about Africa and not all is real.

  • i am from colombia, and i think people are incredebly IGNORANT!!!!!!!!! why do people accisiated with drugs it seems drugs are sinonimons to colombia, but i think people need to be open-minded and accept other realities.

  • Interesante como opinan... ...

    thanks

  • @adibnagui well i´m colombian but I only know english because i lived in houston texas the only home languaje there is spanish but if you go please dont trust in the first person just keep your stuff, im not talking in general about colombians i mean most of us are very kind and friendly. COME TO MY COUNTRY BECAUSE ITS FREAKING BEUTIFUL!!

  • @adibnagui I'm Colombian and I recommend you do not come alone or at least be very careful with your stuff because although the country has improved the security there are still people stealing or you can be the victim of a holdup you should visit the big cities and do not go to places alone..and about the English well at school we take classes in English so we at least know the basic.

  • @ssz212 BEAUTIFULLY SPOKEN !!!!

  • @elcolombiono... It's your aggressive and foulmouthed language that hurts the image of your country most of all. You are definitely NOT a tribute to your people. Who's the ignorant here ?!

  • colombia is the best country around the world, i live in colombia and i can say u here, is the best people, isn´t us u think. we have problems but, not everybody is a narcotrafficant a prostitute. here the people is very friendly.

  • This just proves we gotta change the people's view of Colombia.

  • For all you assholes who are saying that Colombians have lots of problems no the problem that we have is dealing with cunts like you. For those who said that you can't tell a Colombian the problems that their country has because they get pissy fuck yeah we do because we are so fucking proud to come from a country that is so awsome and beautiful that we will fight any of those insults.

  • To last fat ass that talked he is a typical stupid fat ass who doesn't know anything else except on what he wants to feast on! And I hope he never goes to my beautiful country because I don't want a fat ass like him to experiance the beauty of my great country.

  • colombia is thes best country in the world

  • A BLACK BITCH IS TALKING ABOUT PROSTITUSTES AND DROGS THE DIFERENCE IS THAT THE AMERICAN MAFIA IS JSUT FUKING BLACK WITH OUT EDUCATION FULL OF PROTITUTES AND THEY WORK FOR THE COLOMBIAN MAFIA . FUKING BITCH SUCK MY DICK

  • COLOMBIA not columbia like some people call it its a great country is the best one i know because i come from it and its a peaceful country filled with natural resorses and nice people

  • o and about all the gangs, drugs and what not in colombia, if you're no involved your fine ! its a peaceful country people you make it sound like life there is sooo bad... When i go there its like i never want to come back !

  • NO. colombia is not just drugs and violance... thats just worldwide theres violance everywhere other than that we are wonderful people, me myself was born there but came here when i was 4 and i WISH i had been raised there. It is a wonderful country with beautiful beaches and cities. The music is great and the food is delicious. for people who think its all about drugs and that everyone is so violent, we have the nicest people you will ever meet. Go visit before you start talking

  • Me was born in Colombia

  • Thank you for posting this video, and for the comments. Just by sharing and talking about Colombia, we will really understand that beautiful land, full of paradoxes. I am glad there are people outt here doing stuff like this. It is good work. Take it easy-cheers!

  • I am Colombian I am in Europe and lived 6 years in New York. Sadly this video is pretty much accurate. Our image abroad has been stained by years of violence and drug traficking. It is not that Americans are dump-that's part of their stereotype, however. Stereotypes aside, when you share what you know with an Americans or an Europeans they listen ,and learn- It's true for everyone else, not only us. Yes,stereotypes are very deepseated. So it is every Colombian's duty to inform&show the best of us.

  • FUCK U GUYS, IM FUCKING COLOMBIAN!!!!!!! and where i live, theres nothing like that over ther, so u should stfu

  • I am Colombian too,and I do not agree with you. There is alot happening over there- there is war, violence, drug trafficking. There is corruption and lots of social problems. Let alone politics- totally corrupted. Maybe where you live nothing like that happens, yes, but maybe you, like many other fellow Colombians preffer to cheer the good things about our country but fail to address our real problems. Yes we are great, beutiful people, full of potential, but until we can't lie to ourselves.

  • Stupid americans. They dont know anythign about the world. Im colombian and my land is awesome but our government is a shit. FUCKING URIBE

  • I like Uribe, I think alot of colombians are just horrible people ruining it for the few good ones.

  • Let me correct you: "A few are just horrible people ruining it for a lot of the good Colombians"

  • you know, I had a rough time there, and thats how I felt, but you know, drugs and terrorists, Ill be honest I never saw that, I sawe a couple dealers at school, nothing more (one of them got caught and expelled =P)

  • I also had a rough time there- fortunately I had the opportunity to leave and do other stuff- After finishing my training abroad I long to comeback and do something for my people. I never saw terrorist or drugs either, but they are there. Sadly coz people don't see stuff but hear about it all the time, stop caring. I saw it everyday. One of the biggest problems Colombia faces is the indifference of its own people. Most feel powerless, but people don't realize the chage is in us,working together

  • @Llangle aint you see that in every other country

  • although I have to tell you, my biggest problems against quite a few colombians now, you cant really talk about the problems their country has, alot of them just get violent and will begin swearing. but again, there are others you can talk with, and they are pretty good guys.

  • then again, I gotta admit, I may not be the best guy to debate with either =P oh well either way, thanks for bieng really polite about it though=)

  • I agree with you- Many Colombians don't like to talk about Colombia's problems. For many, it is a matter of image. Unfortunalty there is alot of indifference. Sadly, many like me have to leave, and it is abroad that people start to understand these issues. Don't get me wrong. I really like this video coz it reallly shows what people thnk out there. The idea of this material it is not to debate, but to talk and understand what we know about Colombia. Hopefully things will get better for every1.

  • agree!

  • I fucking hate how all Americans are so dumb and find the way to blame their addiction on drugs on countries like Colombia, when THEY are the ones that buy them. Americans and Europeans keep the drug industry in Colombia alive, yet they can't recognize that. Fuck that. What would it be if everyone says the first thing we think about Americans is crack/weed addicts? very nice huh? Fat, obese people?

  • Comment removed

  • I get Pissed off because I'm part Colombian and Puerto Rican I hear stupid stuff from (Puerto Ricans/Family my father side)Saying about cocaine the fuck I said really? why u the stupid on buying the drugs! hes a drugy! so I'm upset I don't consider Puerto Rican FUCK Puerto Rico!! • Colombia is the best country i have ever been to! <3

Is sad that people think that about Colombia this is a great country, you should get better information before said things that u don't know about it...

  • i love colombia food bandeja paisa ummmmm...

    :)

  • very bad video..... Colombia is great no that

  • This is a great start. I would like to see a mix of people from diffrent ethnic and religious backrounds to more women. I enjoyed seeing people in the street rather then in an apartment. This is an important video because it confirms that people do not really know much about my beautiful colombia!

  • After watch this video, I can realice that people are really grong (mostly), about our amazing country wich has everything you need to live and work in peace, we aren´t all colombian people producers of drugs, we´re nice people "gente echada pa´lante" full of really good things. I could bet that around the world there´s a lot of worst people than in Colombia.

Keep on doing this really great campain/tesis Jess, keep on showing to the world our spectacular country: COLOMBIA.

    I´m with you. JW;)

  • i don't really know much... and i don't like to talk about the negative stuff about another county because no country is perfect... but i do know they have really good looking women down there... thats basically it... shout out to pablo!!! love u bro! see you soon.

  • The video itself is funny. The guy that said 1000, to a million, to 100 million obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. I would probably edit that comment out. The lady that follows is very good. The funniest thing however was: "I heard they got good cocaine, so at least you guys are good for something."

    LOL.

  • A positive thing that could become Colombia's stereotype is that they make one of the world's finest coffees. Thanks to Starbucks and Juan Valdez, growing coffee has become more profitable for farmers. Hopefully this will start a transition from illegal production of coca plants to the production of coffee plants and the negative stereotype will fade along with the cocaine. I rather be known for great coffee than for cocaine. : )

  • I agree with Keysi, I think the better question would be - What first comes to mind when you think about Colombia? I know a lot about Colombia but unfortunately the first things that come to mind is still drugs. It is not because I don't know any better. Stereotypes, especially negative ones are hard to erase from peoples psyche.

  • The question "what do you know about...?" is a complex question, which (in the presence of a camera) would force a response that is not very spontaneous; I mean, it is bound to be a filtered response.

A question like: "When I say Colombia, what comes to mind?" Or, "I say Colombia, and you say..?" Might elicit a more spontaneous response, thus allowing a less filtered picture that will more accurately reflect stereotypes.

    I hope this helps.

  • Fade to black were not smooth, possibly get rid of them all together. Cut your voice where ever possible, let the interviewee speak for themselves. I would like to see the Ecuadorian gentleman speak a little. Also, the part about the president during the therapist's interview should be cut it neither adds nor remove information. All in all you have good material. A pick up take is suggested to gather stronger interviews. A final note whoever was doing the camera work is amazing. Good luck Jess.

  • People ignore that 98% of Colombians that live, work, and suffer to create a new image of our beautiful country; Colombia believe and work everyday to continue with their own culture, traditions and to preserve the inmense and rich natural resources that some are unique in the world; but the greatness will be the average colombian that in his adversity still has dreams and enjoys life; some day that image will be bombarded by positive ones that are far more than the bad stereotypes.
