How are you being able to cut it so cleanly? Im not being able to do so without either losing my whole object (When using Booleans) or without getting extra geometry (When using Polycut)

Also When i try explode, the chunks fall through the plane, i even created a new Passive body (plane) with the same result. And it is it giving me a lot of Interpenetration errors. Im using Maya 2012 64bit. On a Core i7 2600k Running @ 4.5Ghz with 16Gb RAM and a GTC 560.
