i was talking about Johnson tbf but 72 goals from 345 appearances isn't exactly a good record for a centre forward no matter how you look at it, works out at just under a goal every 5 games (roughly). If he didn't have an Everton tattoo and hadn't scored in the derby couple of times he would now be seen as a badly injury prone, average striker with a terrible disciplinary record and no respect for anyone. Johnson is a pretty poor striker at the top level, he'd be better off in the championship.

I'm not forgetting the good season he had, to be fair though 8 of those goals were from penalties, he got 16 from open play. I never said he was injury prone i was talking about Ferguson when i said that, again the disciplinary record comment was about Ferguson. Overall he has been pretty average at best when in the Premier League, his best performances were for Palace in the Championship.

@jkcool123 You're right, the facts don't, but if you only look at stats you'll have a jaded view of things, for instance Mascherano is currently the best passer in the Premier League, and Lucas is #2, Lucas also is the best tackler in the league according to the stats. Johnson had one good year like i said, but he always went to ground far too easy, he did like a dive, which is one reason he won a lot of penalties but also the reason why he didn't win that many after that season.

Can't really comment on Lucas and Mascherano, don't see them play very often, save for MOTD on a saturday night.

However, Johnson was given a bad rep in the papers for diving (the media was the main reason behind his reputation as a diver), but most of the time he WAS brought down. He didn't cheat, he just went down easier than he could have done. It's not against the rules, and it gets goals; why not?
