  • That's good to know although I sold the car over a year ago. Hopefully it will help other owners.

  • Cause of problem: Too much coolant flow at high RPM

Solution: Have Mazda install "orifice, heater hose" to restrict coolant flow (P/N : F10061E09)

For more info, google "rx8club 181950" without the quotes. I tried to post the direct link, but youtube wont allow it.

  • you sure about this?

  • My '07 does this.

It sounds to me like bubbles in the coolant flowing really fast. It's probably what MrLane03 described.

  • The cause of this is too much coolant flow at high RPM. Mazda installed a "coolant restrictor valve" which eliminated this very annoying sound.

  • i have this on my 8 to

  • Oh god, what a horrible sound. That poor 8.

  • carbon build up? maybe get higher performance oil? haha i don't think my 8 has that problem.

  • I appreciate you posting a video of this... now I know what it sounds like in case, I get the same problem.

  • I got this too, how do I fix it?

  • I have that sound too on my 2006. Not worried about it.

  • LOL i was looking away and for a second I thought i really was watching some cooking video with a blender going. That must be really annoying on the road, any ideas on what it could be?

  • According to the dealer its due to moisture on or in the heater core and its normal. However most RX8s don't do it so doesn't sound like a common thing to me. I just hope it isn't doing damage to anything.
