Regarding income, why do you find that unsual? If someone makes 10,000,000 in a year and their income goes by 4%, then they would obviously control a vastly larger % of the income gains when compared to a group of 99 other people who make between $14,000 and $33,000 a year and whose income rose by the same 4%. You'd be talking about $93,000+ income gains fo the 99 people and $400,000 for the 1 person making $10,000,000. We may not like, but the numbers are understandable probably accurate.

In the 60's it took a lot of labor to create a product. The gains the working class made were largely due to unions. The effect of Collective bargaining was huge.
The gains were lost due to massive immigration, automation in manufacturing and in data processing, and the dollar becoming a world currency. Regarding income, why do you find that unsual? If someone makes 10,000,000 in a year and their income goes by 4%, then they would obviously control a vastly larger % of the income gains when compared to a group of 99 other people who make between $14,000 and $33,000 a year and whose income rose by the same 4%. You'd be talking about $93,000+ income gains fo the 99 people and $400,000 for the 1 person making $10,000,000. We may not like, but the numbers are understandable probably accurate.

TVs don't seem to last as long, and from what I hear, that's particularly true of these new Plasma LCD type TVs. So it may not be that people are just choosing to buy more TVs, but they are having to replace them at a more frequent rate. I agree regarding the Tea Party. They are not putting forth any viable leadership. All they are doing is restating conservative fiscal positions and worshipping Ron Paul. To be effective, they have to actually do something. For that they need a leader(s).
