  • I do 950 NS/day :) doubel you more or less, i use a gtx 560 ti OC'd at 900mhz on the core

  • 9.1 petaFLOPS ftw!

  • Can someone help me finish 100,000 points for my school

    i would really appreciate it

    username: nate25

    team number 143016

  • 1) use hypercam

2you guys who believed this are all dumb, this is just sped up

  • @samanator36 Sped up what, exactly? This is the standard F@H GPU client used at the time, 3 years ago. Stop chatting shit.

  • @samanator36 look how fast the camera moves your moron. Thats what they call SPEED. Moron.

  • For some reason, my gpu is only under 2% load when running this.

  • @sabbathcrazy folding.stanford.edu

  • Dude a WU will not finish in 30 minuets !

U are running at about 450 ns/day it should take you about an hour and 50 minuets to complete 1 WU !

    My gtx 580 palit card @ 1450 ns/day-1500 ns/day takes about 50min to an hour and 10min !

Think before you say dude !

  • I get 935.256 ns/day on meh GTX470 with a Q9550 and 4GB of DDR2 800 (no OC)

  • how do you get it to move?

  • Wish they'd release an nvidea gpu linux client. I'm considering re-installing windows just to run this.

  • I downloaded the Nvidia gpu client & i have a 9800gtx+ with fans on 100% so it stays under 70C but the thing is it's only getting 200 - 300 ns/day why is your 8800gt getting 400+ ?

  • @drakio99 I overclocked my card like 50 clocks on core shader and memory and it went to speeds of 650ns to 975ns ;3 Huge difference those 50 clocks made.

  • Maybe i didnt get it right (new to this) but doing 2 WU per hour is actually fast?? Im running a CPU client on Windows 7 and doin around 2-3 WU per hour... I just started doing it yesterday around this time (6pm PST) and i already have 45 out of 125 WU competed. And my Resource Monitor shows that Im only using 50% capacity of my CPU. Im running an AMD Turion II Ultra-Core Mobile M600 2.40 GHz with 4GB of Ram on 64 bit OS. My video card sucks balls

  • Look when this video was posted. Also look at the specs of the card. The WU isn't necessarily the important part - its how many PPD you're generating from those completed WU's.

  • @staytuned100mil different client types get different amounts of work. (f@h website)

  • Ok this might be a stupid question, but can you\we play while folding through the gpu?

Does the program manage gpu usage like the cpu version does?

  • @rick62008 Yes you can i was folding while playing gmod on max setting with my 9800gtx+ with no lag

  • where did you get this? I need that speed

  • 176683

Join us to get the most amount of people to speed up the science :D

  • lol tried this.cant make the thing move

  • check out my vid response on here and you can see the newer version

  • @Kashground you need a dedicated graphics card... hell ATI & nVidia should use this as marketing material lol

  • ?????

  • i run rosetta at home they are doing same kind of things

  • Use evga precision 1.8.0 i think is the latest one and it is the best tool ever, get it from guru3d or ausgamers just search in google

  • These GPU clients are amazing (Yes, to the people below me, they exist!)

Pushing out about 8k PPD with my overclocked GTX 260 216SP, and about 9k PPD total with my overclocked e8500 adding on to my score :)

  • WTF?? How can your 8800 GT FAN SPIN SO FUCKING FAST?.. Mine is stuck at lousy 30% fan speed.. Making my card going to 108c when gaming, and that sucks..

  • USE RIVA TUNER

  • Hm.. Will try again.. Last time it didn't work. >.>

  • it might be locked at a certain speed but id hope not!

  • Comment removed

  • @daniellynet download rivatuner and manually control the fan speed

  • @daniellynet do u have any other software that will lock up the fan controller?

Because i had that same problem with my gtx 580 because i had 2 pieces of software fighting over control of the 580 (Vtune and EVGA Precision)

  • @xXrob771Xx

My card died shortly after I wrote that comment.

Using a 5770 right now, and no I did not have any software dad locked my fan speed.

  • look at that fan noise, is your 8800 still working?

  • imagine Folding@Home on a render farm

  • Are you fucking retarded?

  • ya mine goes faster but uh it doesnt look like it goes as smoothly

  • Where can I get that? I have F@h but the normal version. Not the GPU thing which I'm trying to find!!

  • lol maybe its fake

  • nub..¬¬

  • with my ATi gpu, i keep getting vpu crashes. i have the latest firmware. i even set the fan to 100 percent and underclock it, and set it at only 70 percent usage. but still, i get vpu crashes. anyone know how to fix this?

  • ukmk3supra:

What program did you use to overclock your 8800GT? Is it the 512mb card?

  • and now with a GTX 260 BLACK it is even faster (faster) ... ;-) ...

  • hi all please join my team its nvidia 8xxx and 9xxx series cards my team number is157252

  • real question is why arent we using gpu's to assist the cpu? its obvious they are far faster

  • If you mean for F@H, the reason is that the cpu is much more flexible in the types of work units it can handle.

The GPU and PlayStation3 work units need to be much more specifically coded to run efficiently/at all.

    hope that helped

  • because gpus work diffrently from cpu as a cpu contains the ALU and the onboard cache which the GPU does not. Intel and AMD are working on a CGPU processor check google for CGPU

  • my gtx 280 and e8500 is putting up 610 ns/day lol

  • just echoing the ATI comments, and that my 4870x2 is useless as folding.

Also, the ps3 doesnt have a GPU client does it?

  • hi im running folding@home using my 9600gt but im only one person on my team id if you want to help me my team number on folding@home is 157252 8xxx and 9xxx cards

  • Dude where did you download your F@H installer?

I got mine with nvidia power pack, and I have evga GTX 260(180.48 driver)and Q6600 @ 3.4GHz and it does not look like yours. My F@H is kind of lagging. My performance is 240ns/day. How am I going to raise my performance

  • it all depends on what work unit you get. on my 260 i get from 175 up to 600 ns/day

  • ok go to google and typeGPU client for folding@home and download the client from there website make sure you goto configuration settings and set cpu usage to max and download rivtuner to increase fan speed (cooler) and shader clock (more ppd points when folding)

  • btw the 1993ns was cause i reloaded the progam anyways i got 2 4870x2s and top out around 700 iter/sec i dont know how much ns or ppd that is i tried to research but i couldnt find valid iters for the PS3 280 and other 4870x2s

  • If only ATI improves it's GPU client it will blow Nvidia away!

  • Well its not up to ATI, but the folding client developers. ATI have had the new CAL dll's in place for a month now, but still no fahcore can take any advantage.

  • ROFL... your response is pretty much the same is mine. Astonishing. Have you seen f@h stats recently? Something like 40,000 ps3's producing 1 petaflop. Meanwhile 11,000 nvidia cards producing 1.5 petaflops lol

  • Cann you send me the link to the nvidia stats

  • What kind of rate do you get in the non-cuda client? With my HD4850 it takes about 1.5 hours to do a WU at standard clock, 1-ish overclocked. I want ATi to get there language going going so we can have this, without needing to do it the hackish way, like with physx. Nice score rate.

  • Milkyway@home has a GPU ATI client. and is fast

    download at zslip com

  • LOL I JUST SEEN 1993ns/DAY on my pc

  • my 280 GTX at 715 1430 2430 has seen 690ns / day

  • thats pretty kikass!

  • yeh i wanna get a GPU setup for folding soon.

  • Got an 8800GT too. I'd advise not overclocking the memory so high as it tends to be a surefire way to brick it according to many unfortunate users. Also for folding @ home results you'll want to up the shader more and put the core down. After folding for 12 hours straight it is at 75C which is pretty good but once you hit 85 you start hurting the card pretty bad. I'm getting 5k points a day with an overclock on my e8400 (3.6 ghz linked FSB ). I love F@H and I can't wait to see the results!

  • I was getting about 4700PPD until i shut down the computer. And yes, i'm aware that the cards with Qimonda memory IC's dislike being pushed hard, ihad mine at 1050Mhz for gaming, but for folding, memory speed makes almost no difference, as the data set is so small. It was downclocked back to its rated 1000Mhz Speed.

  • 2x4870x2 in crossfireX:PPPP

  • And this has NO relevance to this video. Nubcake.

  • oh, i was just wondering how it should run with two 4870x2. hmm and what is nubcake:O

  • 4870x2's are piss poor for folding at the moment, probably needs a bespoke core made just for that card, and its the people at F@H job to do it :(

  • Would be awesome to be able to build a "folding box" consisting of a fanless, low power desktop CPU, but have 4 GPUs (either two dual-GPU video cards in two PCI-Express x16 slots or 4 video cards in 4 PCI-Express slots).

Does the GPU folding client support multiple GPUs? That would be awesome.

  • im running it as well. its amazing! im making 5644 ppd on my 8800gts g92 overclocked to 750/1860/1000

  • Whats your f@h name? It looks like Kai? What team number is that?

  • It is Kai. And team 43596. The updated client is ever so slightly faster, too :)

  • I'm running this client plus my smp and I'm getting 3308ppd on my gpu and 1538ppd on my cpu.

all and all I'm around 5000ppd...

  • Once the Radeon 4850 is out, crank the clockspeed up on it and voila - 1 TERAFLOP of processing power.

At the moment, this is considered SLOW compared to the GTX280 and the forthcoming Radeon's - but still waaaay faster than even the most expensive quad core :)

  • Unfortunately the ATI client is very conservative and doesn't really make use of the full potential of the 38xx series let alone the 48xx series..

However, once they ramp it up, it'll be amazing.

  • Yep - now the 8.12's have new CAL dll's, we just need a fahcore that'll take advantage.

  • Sweet. Crazy speed.

A supercomputer on your desk. I love it.
