@Trainbuff2008 put it this way the emergency brakes on most trains are quite powerful especially on tube trains so anyone on the train standing up in the train when the full application is made (i.e. when the emergency brakes are applied) could possibly fall and injure then self s which could lead to the train operator being sued hence why its only done when the whole train is at risk not when one person is at risk...
@meme43211 I would say that the brakes on modern trains are not as sharp as on the old trains.
E.G, Central line 62 stock emergency Westinghouse brake was a lot sharper than 92 stock modern braking especially at slow speeds.
In fact going from normal braking to emergency (When new) resulted in a feeling of the brakes releasing then applying as the train switched circuits from normal to emergency.
That fake fact about not stopping for people on the track reminds me of the Evening Standard story about trains running slower on Valentines Day because of suicides, which was also fake.
@meme43211 Easy I worked for the underground for 20 years & know how fake all of this is, I have been to both North Weald & Ongar recently to see the progress towards reopening.
Suicides pick busy stations with frequent services, trying to commit suicide at North Weald would probably result in falling asleep waiting for a train!
Armstrong & Miller had a sketch where a man tries to commit suicide at North Weald station & ends up under a rail replacement bus instead!
What a load of shit. Get your facts right.

Prior to the closure of it,
a campain was held to create a privete railway.
"could a privite railway do a better service than LT?"
meeting were held at local places in epping
kav816 1 year ago
@kav816 So far the answer is no but maybe one day something will run again as a tourist/preservation attraction.
TimBrown59 1 year ago
@kav816 Now it is a private railway & we will soon see if a better job can be done.
When it runs the service should be more interesting than the LT service was.

You should also acknowledge Video 125 for the footage you have used from the film "Central, a drivers eye view"

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!
Ongar and North Weald closed in 1994, NOT 1981!

@TheCamouflagedCactus And where's the third and fourth rails?
OldPrawnFace 1 year ago
@OldPrawnFace ripped up and used somewere else most likely
meme43211 1 year ago
@OldPrawnFace They were ripped out after closure as valuable scrap though maybe they were reused elsewhere on the system.
There are no plans to replace them as they are not needed for traction anymore, the railway will revert to steam & diesel motive power.

This is really good, nice touch, hope you decide to do some more short films. it is nice to see a well done vid dealing with a serious issue.
