  • With those motors there is 9 total pounds of thrust available. The machine weighs 3 pounds 13 ounces with a single 3S 2200mah pack, so you could put about 2 pounds of payload on it and still have it by flyable. About 5-3/4 pounds would be the max flying weight.

  • I like your placement of the LEDS for orientation.. Looks really stable. How much payload could it carry with a 3s 2200 lipo?

  • The DJI NAZA controller installed in this quad is only $220.00, The one you are thinking of is the WooKong-M system which is $1100.00

  • That system is like a grand. You should be impressed!

  • With a 3-cell 4500mah battery (Two 3-cell 2250 packs in parallel) I can fly for 10 minutes and use up about 80% of the battery energy, which is all you really want to pull from a battery each flight. These motors do have enough torque to turn 11x4.7 props also if you need more lifting ability.

  • The Cobra 2217/20 motors with GemFan 10x4.5SF props are a pretty efficient combination. In a quad set-up, total power draw is about 83mah per minute per pound. With a 4 pound flying of the craft in this video, power consumption is about 330 to 340 mah per minute.

  • I was wondering on flight time what are getting with the 2217/20 motors and is there another motor you had try out yet. I am thinking torque with large prop. what do you think!

  • That is absolutely awesome! Is that the new controller you mentioned on a recent episode of ATTF? it looks rock solid! :D
