oh look a penny :) .. is there a correlation between adhd and red hair? - I've seen so many redheads since I started looking for info on adult adhd - i wonder if they get encoded on related genes... damn, I need to turn leechblock on again ..
In adition to my post below, I want to point out that if you do a search for "DSM-IV AHD" you will see what the mental health department (who makes their money by finding ways to say people are mentally sick) has all the charectoristics laid out for what is ADD/ADHD. If you look at them closely, they are nothing but a list of anoying behaviors that teachers do not want to put up with in over crowded class rooms.
omg, you just described every hunam on this planet. Even some animals. ADHD is a fraud. It is nothing but the need to find something wrong with people not being unique in this world. zomg, you used finger quotes. You must have the need to fidget. Botom line is that in none of your videos have you seemed inpulsive, hyper or distracted from your task of making the video. This diagnosis is all subjective by the prospective of the person that is doing the evaluation.
This supposed expert mentions the "three main marks" of AD(H)D, but nowhere, in this person's video offerings, is there any mention of the three "subtypes" of ADHD, i.e., either presenting with "hyperkinetic" qualities or no. I'd think that someone who has made the myth of mental illness her "clerical" mission-and career- would have been conscious of the aforementioned. Moreover, every video is concerned with "ADHD," without making any discerning comments about "ADD." Sloppy video crafting.
Hello, im a 34 year old male diagnosed with adhd, im currantly taking Adderall xr, i take it everyday. 10 milligrams a day. The question i have is. im gioing to a wedding soon and want to drink on the night of the wedding if i dont take my adderall the day of the wedding but take it the day before will it be out of my system and safe to drink.
They think I'm a rebel, so I just pretend that i was, so they will not expect too much for me.... but deep inside i'm really in pain, because I know and God knows, how much I want to finish college... i'm glad dispite of the struggle and painful remarks of others... yeeeeeyyyy Finally I graduated... Once I'll find a job i'll go to doctor, to get help... Haiiissstt ; )
I did good in class when I was in elementary and High School and I graduated w/ honor, but I knew my struggle to focus in class then was not a piece of cake.. I cried, can't sleep, palpitate a lot, and scared all the time, because I can't focus.... My college years was a lot more tragic, because I quit 4 times, before I graduated.... I can't stand the pressure of college anymore, and other think that I'm a revel bcause I quit college... Such a painful experience...
My little brother have ADHD, he was diagnosed since he was six.... I took nursing, and I learned a lot about ADHD... and I think I have ADHD because I'm easily get distracted.... When I was young, I cry a lot because there were plenty of times that I can't sleep and I palpitate a lot... Because I was just a kid then, I can't understand what was happening to me.... I have fairly good grades, but that happend because I force myself to death to cope... struggle a lot and i think i know why now..
I have lived with this all my life im 29 now and actually considering ending my life becouse of this hell it is like static in my head all the time, I went to a psychiatrist and she said to me well it is obvious that you suffer from ADHD and that was that no treatment except very strong pills called iktrovil (klonazepam pills) these pills stole about two years of my life from me well probably more since coming down from them is horrible and doesent happen over night. Help me!
@DALordOfTheLabyrinth Get a different psychiatrist. There are a number of medications to treat ADHD. Strattera is an ADHD that is specifically approved for treating *Adult* ADHD. Also, check out chadd dot org to see if there is a support group in your area.
Thanks for this, it's a help even though it made me feel a little blue, but i suppose it's better to know this stuff than floating through life like a fart in a trance wondering what's wrong with me.
One either talks of behavior or, of disease. The symptoms of ADD are not to be confused with signs, as the latter term is only applicable to marked changes in function of cells and/or tissue.
@kerokerorincho Are you making appeal by way of medical fact or that of an article of faith? As our culture of sickness, and the politics that animates such discussion over "disease", there are politically galvanized groups for just about every disease and dis-ease state.
Seriously, I know this video was only one minute long, but I had to watch it twice because I missed parts from getting up twice and looking away many more times than that. lol
I have 2 Characteristics you described but not the hyper part, i can be hyper at times but i don't consider that to be apart of it, unless i eat candy, lol.

What does ADHD become when the attentiveness is treated but not the impulsivity or the hyperactivity? HD?

You didn't speak about the impulsivity factor or did I miss it? That's the one that does the most damage for me.
