FYI about tribal fusion belly dance, or any form of belly dance, it is an art, like tap dance, or ballet. You can't do undulations with the stomach unless you've practiced, and you can't do a solid turn until you've practiced. It involves great skill. Stripping is not an art; it involves no skill and is not creative, until they start actually using the pole with their legs - and even then the good ones aren't strippers. Is there a link between being a goth and dancing tribal? Or is that dance for everybody like cabaret etc?

Tribal is so fascinating cus there are so much facettes in dancing. So much Styles. -Thats why it is called Tribal FUSION dance ;)There is no other kind of dance I know which depends so much on the personality of the dancer and the message she wants to tell.

So, if you really want to dance you will have to find your own style and not by changing into a goth or something. Especially if you dont want to!

In my opinion there is no difference between ATS and Tribal Fusion.

I'm no american so tell me if im wrong but in fact America is a fusion of cultures too. Maybe this is the reason why modern tribal stile was born there, in San Francisco.

Yes. I did common bellydancing and then fell in love with tribal dance about two years ago.

I saw a clip of Rachel Brice and immediately was hypnotized. I guess I'm still today ;)

btw. I don't really differ so much about fusion and ATS anyway... I dance on music that sounds good to me and do my own costumes only depending on my personal style. Thats it ;)
