I just finished Clannad today, I'm proud to say that it's my all time favorite anime. Yes, it was sad, and yes I cried (a little) but if it weren't for all of the emotionally gripping scenes and beautiful music scores, Clannad just wouldn't be as great as it is!

It's not Clannad that's sad, it's After Story. That said, After Story wouldn't have had the emotional impact it did if it weren't for Clannad, since it gave us a chance to get to know the characters and actually care about them. I'd say they're important series to watch, it's one of my favourite.

@BleachKiki hard to say, this anime is not like any normal happy go lucky animes, y'know like the characters are always happy n all that, Clannad is a bit realistic, ofcourse there's the funny n stupid side but when its serious, it made u think, someone died in this anime, not going to say who, and its fucking will make u shed tears, or not, depends on the person who watch it but majority of the people who watched this anime were touched, not only the dying part though, there's more ;)

My favorite anime was death note and then I decided to watch shuffle cause of the ending song that I liked. Then I got referred to clannad and I got to say it was the best decision I've made. I thought it was dumb at first but kept on it, then I cried with fuko and it just touched me deeply. I know there's a lot of spoilers in these comments but DO NOT deprive yourself the experience, watch it.

@bolers21 Well, if you did like Clannad, Kanon is made by the same people and it is a very good Anime. I also like Shuffle, Angel Beats, Rosario + Vampire, Air Gear, Kampfer, HOTD (Highschool of the Dead), Omamori Himari, Kanokon, Death note, and Infinite Stratos. Those are the best anime I have seen so far.
