I just explained to you that the fact that crimes are higher among certain groups doesn't mean that it is due to their race or culture because there are many other variables involved. How do you prove that it is race and not another factor that they also have in common like poverty?
No, I don't consider that race is a factor in crime, but cultural is. The Afro-Carribean that land in Europe are usually the poor ones that seek jobs, but because they do not assimilate and depend on Europe welfare system, they never can truly embrace British culture and remain with the poor minority mentality. The European and American welfare systems are partly to blame for this, you ought look up how African-Americans ended up disenfrachised in Chicago.

I think that its a combination of all 3. Poverty influences culture just as laws do. Since culture basically means "learned behavior," many factors shape a person's/people's culture. The Carribean has high crime rates, high poverty, and subpar politics that keep its people poor, uneducated, disobediant, and sometimes even violent. Now imagine what happens when you allow these people to enter a multicultural, ultra-liberal, welfare societies in Europe.
I don't think view people who come from underdeveloped countries as inherintly criminal, I do think that they ought to assimilate or at least learn some of Western culture and bring it back to their homeland. Not everything that is modern comes from Western societies, but much of what was modern medicine, education, gov't, etc. was introduced throughout the world from Europeans.
As for the Muslims themselves, the problem is a lack of assimilation into English culture. Where Muslims call themselves Muslims first and English second. I agree with that to some extent. You do have to obey the laws and try to connect with others in society. But you can't change dramatically your values overnight and you don't have to as long as you obey the laws. Would you ask your kids to adopt Muslim values if you lived in a Muslim country? Also, it is not exactly easy to assimilate to some Europeans societies. There is discrimination. Assimilation is the result of both the effort of the immigrants and the natives.
immigrants don't need to change drastically, although sometimes I feel that people expect foreigners to change quickly, which is nonsence. Change as importance as this requires time, sometimes a lot of it.
I feel that for Immigrants to assimilate there need to be 2 factors: 1) a tolerant and understanding host nation and 2) peaceful (no criminal record), and open minded immigrants. Sadly, too many bad apples wash ashore in Europe. Sometimes I wonder how good of a background check do they do.
Also, if you move your family to Saudi Arabia, you could only stay there for a short time if you are a non-Muslim. The beauty of of Western values is religous tolerance, something Muslim countries do not possess. Yes, these estremists Muslims are a minority, but the more Muslim immigrants are come to Europe, the more their numbers rise. Many Muslims tend to have large families, which also do not assimilate. Not really. I know for a fact that many Christian foreigners live in the Arab Gulf because they can find high paying jobs there. Reigious tolerance does need improvement in some Muslim countries, but in other countries it's not that bad. There are Christians practicing their religions freely in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and other countries...in Lebanon alone there are many Christian denominations.

Those people confuse criticism of Islamic extremism with criticism of Islam or Muslim culture. If you look at the comments that they're referring to, you can confirm for yourself that I did not once disrespect Muslim people or Islam.
As per your "facts", there are many possible reasons for that which have nothing to do with Islam: poverty, alienation, social conditions in the ghetto, drugs, gangs, have all been related to crime. You're assuming that Islam is the cause but have no proof of that.

I don't understand your point. Are you saying that dark-colored races are genetically or culturally more prone to violence? That sounds like white supremacist rethoric to me. I just explained to you that the fact that crimes are higher among certain groups doesn't mean that it is due to their race or culture because there are many other variables involved. How do you prove that it is race and not another factor that they also have in common like poverty?

No, I don't consider that race is a factor in crime, but cultural is. The Afro-Carribean that land in Europe are usually the poor ones that seek jobs, but because they do not assimilate and depend on Europe welfare system, they never can truly embrace British culture and remain with the poor minority mentality. The European and American welfare systems are partly to blame for this, you ought look up how African-Americans ended up disenfrachised in Chicago.

I think that its a combination of all 3. Poverty influences culture just as laws do. Since culture basically means "learned behavior," many factors shape a person's/people's culture. The Carribean has high crime rates, high poverty, and subpar politics that keep its people poor, uneducated, disobediant, and sometimes even violent. Now imagine what happens when you allow these people to enter a multicultural, ultra-liberal, welfare societies in Europe.

I don't think view people who come from underdeveloped countries as inherintly criminal, I do think that they ought to assimilate or at least learn some of Western culture and bring it back to their homeland. Not everything that is modern comes from Western societies, but much of what was modern medicine, education, gov't, etc. was introduced throughout the world from Europeans.

I don't see anything wrong with immigrants identifying primarily with their country of origin. If you migrated to England, would you stop being American? Would you not want your kids (born in England) to identify as Americans? And if you moved to Saudi Arabia and you were, for example, Christian, wouldn't you identify with Christianity and want your kids to identify with Christian Wstern values rather than Muslim Saudi values?
Do you have any proof that moderates are minority?

I have no problem minorities identifying with their original culture as well, but all immigrants need to assimilate to a certain degree (learn the language, mannerism, obey laws, values, etc.) so as to become part of the society at large instead of remaining a minority. I still retain my own religious, ethnic, and linguistic values from native country, but I eventually assimilated.

I agree with that to some extent. You do have to obey the laws and try to connect with others in society. But you can't change dramatically your values overnight and you don't have to as long as you obey the laws. Would you ask your kids to adopt Muslim values if you lived in a Muslim country? There are limits to that.
Also, it is not exactly easy to assimilate to some Europeans societies. There is discrimination. Assimilation is the result of both the effort of the immigrants and the natives.

immigrants don't need to change drastically, although sometimes I feel that people expect foreigners to change quickly, which is nonsence. Change as importance as this requires time, sometimes a lot of it.
I feel that for Immigrants to assimilate there need to be 2 factors: 1) a tolerant and understanding host nation and 2) peaceful (no criminal record), and open minded immigrants. Sadly, too many bad apples wash ashore in Europe. Sometimes I wonder how good of a background check do they do.

Also, if you move your family to Saudi Arabia, you could only stay there for a short time if you are a non-Muslim. The beauty of of Western values is religous tolerance, something Muslim countries do not possess. Yes, these estremists Muslims are a minority, but the more Muslim immigrants are come to Europe, the more their numbers rise. Many Muslims tend to have large families, which also do not assimilate. Not really. I know for a fact that many Christian foreigners live in the Arab Gulf because they can find high paying jobs there. Reigious tolerance does need improvement in some Muslim countries, but in other countries it's not that bad. There are Christians practicing their religions freely in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and other countries...in Lebanon alone there are many Christian denominations.

Well, first of all my point was primarily against Saudi Arabia, but yes, there are some Muslim nations that tolerate other religions. Rich countries such as those found in the Arabian Gulf (UAE, Qutar, etc.) are more open since they are capitalist societies. The same can be said about 17th cent.
