I have some questions. I'm not really into piano but at 0:45 the sheets says ritardando which means "less gradual slowing down", so you improvised a little?
and at the ending it says e d c. did you improvise a little there too?
PLEASE HELP!! How do you keep it so even tempo'd. What speed is that? My teacher had me play it slowly and evenly, but it didn't help me get faster and stay steady tempo'd!! What am I doing wrong? LOL!
@TzviErez I have been searching for a good performance of Solfeggietto on youtube for 30 minutes! I'm learning the piece right now, and am looking for something to emulate. Yet everything I heard, until now, did not sound the way I feel the piece is meant to be played. There is a guy who plays it at a ridiculously high speed, and it just sounds terrible. Thank you so much! This is beautiful. No offense to anyone else =) Keep practicing!
XD ;ppp your hands look like tarantulas lol sorry for the mean comment but i had to say it... from my view its soo weird :D But anyways fantastic job it was soo cleaan and perfectt :D
Your version definitely does shine (and brilliantly, I might add). :) I've heard this played at 200+ bpm and to be frank, find your slower version much more beautiful. Well done.

@TzviErez Interesting! You learn something every day. I've also read about the change in tempos over time, especially when it comes to something as vague as allegretto where even professional pianists debate between 90 to even 130 BPMs.
This piece in particular does not have much inflection to begin with besides the brief changes from forte to pianissimo towards the middle and end. That's why I think most pianists play this at 'fast' speeds because it feels like scale practice.
Completely agree with rsoyadi. Too many pianists think of this piece is just out of control, and play it that way. This is the most perfect recitation I think I've heard of this.
Nice I like like the way you play because you DON'T speed up like other kids and adults on youtube. You keep a nice steady tempo and you don't change it...
I agree 100% I LOVE this interpretation. I hear a steady tempo, yet with a few musical ideas that add character to the piece....the artists interpretation, and actually the more natural way to play this piece! It's SO wonderful. I am trying to learn this piece, and keeping it even tempo is next to impossible......being musical is a lot more fulfilling, and interesting to play and listen to. I admire this artist VERY much!
@haydn4ever It's important that you be able to play a steady tempo though. Playing at a steady tempo is how you learn control. I would never suggest anyone PERFORM this piece in a strict metronomic fashion, but when learning/practicing it is critical.
This melody represents a snowstorm, is a snowstorm that began with a few flakes of snow, and became a big storm. I imagine they find a refuge where they can see the storm without problems these are the images in my mind upon hearing this melody.
This tune is fantastic, but is of short duration. this gentleman has fingers privlegiados

I'm just curious if you have some other sheets.
Please answer.

I like the color inversion in the video, it looks like a harpsichord. I always play this song as if I was on a harpsichord, lots of trills!

@rsoeyadi My friend, you should invest in a metronome.
egitnyc 3 months ago
@egitnyc agreed... the tempo is nowhere near consistent.
It is very musical, and the tempo breathes in a very natural and elegant way, but it's not a steady tempo. Steady tempos are boring.
