  • Don't forget to make a video of the hooers on Barton Street.

  • Why do they park the wrong way in residential areas (they're facing traffic instead of pointing in the direction traffic is supposed to travel?) .

  • Hamilton needs some rebuilding the last time i was there I was 8yrs old I'm now 20 & after going through these videos i can see that Hamilton hasn't changed one bit.

  • yo, were you on the "mountain" when you filmed the first part?

    Hamiltonian, ftw

  • I like the older neighbourhoods like this. Modernism is too boring and bland. Huge, characterless subdivisions and cookie cutter communities. This is when people made cities with some entusiasm, not just with functionalism on the brain.

  • Very well said.

  • god tom wilson rocks he was playing at the shark club yesterday in vancouver bc

  • Yayyyyyyy Hamilton!!! Nice drive... I see you hit all the green lights on your travels LOL thats so rare. We have a great city!!! The mountain of course is the best... lived here all my.

  • God I love Tom Wilson.

  • stoney creek stand up!

  • ...unless you wanna get a wet ass.

  • Great video.....Hamilton is my hometown too.

Tom Wilson is a friend of mine hehehe.

  • cool video and that thar is commin from a Hammertownian

  • i no hamilton seems boring

but we have alot of cool clubs here and shit!

and not to much trouble happens like toronto!

  • I like Hamilton. I only drive through there occasionally as an expediter. The "mountain" is so cool, it is the only really big hill I have ever seen in Ontario. I posted a video response to this video, of crossing the bridge between North and South Hamilton.

  • That's one hell of a massive mountain we have here in Hamilton. I hear they're talking about it out west - lol. P.S. Tom, you're the best! (great voice) -Cathy

  • In just this last week I've been offered a opportunity to make corporate videos and also had a coalition on poverty use some of my Barton Video in a presentation to the city. How's that for unlikely? But still that's exactly what happened :D

  • you may have a point...but then i think about it AND ITS ONE STREET! one street and its just empty buildings. how can you even compare this to toronto i highly doubt you even lived there because i could walk down one of the many streets there and point out dozens of similar places and bulidings. this is just barton street. aside from the hamilton vs toronto debate this is disgusting and it saddens me to see this in any town, its very depressing to see anyone lose thier business.

  • i love seeing my hometown on my favoutite site, but can you drive on the mountain if you do another video? i mean downtown is so dirty, said kaniaqq. the mountain is like 50 %cleaner, plus its more welcoming. plus i live there!

  • yeah me too

i live up on the mountain too

so much cleaner, i live on upper ottawa

  • nice video and the music goes well with it. i don't really get a chance to look around well when driving so thank you. you should make more =)

  • wooohooo steel city ROCKS but damnn we gotto admit its so damn boring here...shyt

  • so sorry, but hamilton is one hell of a dirty city. why do they have to keep open their sewer grates, it completely stinks!!! I go to mac, and I love it, but I miss TO.

  • I think you mean curbside storm drains, which are open in every city.

  • toronto is much dirtier that Hamilton my friend. ive yet to see human feces on the sidewalk here in Hamilton or needles.

  • @kaniagg

OMG.............I can't believe you think that TO smells better than H-Town. lol

  • @kaniagg i agree man TO all the way or alteast new york city

  • Ahh! I wanted to play this song and your video came up! I've been living here the last two years for school.

  • Interesting coincidence!

  • i live in the suberbers with a bunch of rich fucks i used to like on king in the east end this video reminded me of the good times your the best thanks man

  • I live in Vancouver and I drove down Barton Street. It was so gorgeous and historic. An area like that in Vancouver would cost you at leat a million dollars. I admit it was somewhat scumy but it had charachter and lots of it. I'd rather live in Hamilton than all that new shit in Mississauga or Brampton. Be proud.

  • Ghetto as fuck but its home

  • u drove past my work the convention centre lol

  • Hamilton is a ballin city , i used to live on ferguson but now i like on the west mountain with rich fucks so its boring shit

  • I miss Hamilton... Live in BC now but that video made me miss the old dirty city.

  • Hamilton isn't trash , in fact I love it here , I've lived here my whole life . Okay so maybe there is some weird people but hey , its never boring .

  • Hamilton is fucking trash

  • man if u live in hamilton make a graffiti video u might c me by the tracks doin it

  • Next time take a ride down BEACH RD. or BARTON ST.

    Show the real Hammer.

Maybe take a ride by that pigeon bath they call a

    sk8board park BEASLEY (LOL)

I also grew up here and if I had a nickle for every

bozo in a harley davison costume, lining up for beer and lottery tickets,I'd have enough money to build the kids a real sk8board park, like Waterdown ont.

Did you here about the Sk8park TIM HORTON's is building for the kids.

    NO ?

    No neither did I

  • but ya forgot to drive through the real hamilton, that was just the nice part of downtown, haha

  • hahaha its ghetto ass Hamilton, i grew up there still live there its my backyard

  • awesome song, nice video but hamilton is way too boring, only old people and nothing to do in "this city"

  • wow you went right near my old apartment on Robertson between Bay and Caroline, when you passed the 'CH' studio. That's a great area, i loved it.

  • Nice video and great song (Shine)....a Hamilton group (no longer together) called Junkhouse.

  • I lived within walking distance of Hess Village, spent a lot of time there, too much lol. Hey but i didn't have to think about my car. It was safe in the underground parking of my building so I would safely stumble home

  • Hamilton has a bad rap from people from Toronto, kitchener/waterloo places like that, but I have lived there a few times and there isn't a city in Canada with more character, it's a hard core city and i love it. I mean listen to the music that comes out of it, nothing like anywhere in Canada. people in Hamilton are real, no identity problem like most of canada

  • it's like your reading my mind.

  • that comment is 6 months old lol

it's just the truth and you know the truth. Your a perceptive person like me.

  • Remember, it's a mountain, not an escarpment.

  • lol

  • My Home Town... Smelly but it's home.

  • That makes me miss the good ol' Hammer!

  • I live here now. love it. thanks for the video. will send to my kids in vancouver.

  • steel city in my opinion smells.

  • wicked tune fuck hanilton

  • Wow that was well i can speak been 13 years since i been back to hamilton and lived there for 21 god i truly cant tell if its hamilton or not but i did reconize some things and thanks!

  • I find it hard to belive that all were Green Lights.

  • The lights in Hamilton are synchronized along the main routes. If you drive at exactly the legal speed limit, you can get a dozen green lights in a row.

  • @Pyat

yup it's designed to keep you passing through

  • Nice to see, You need to live in Hamilton a while to realize what an excellent city Hamilton is. I miss it

  • im from hamilton also :P

  • Now that im in Chicago right now this veideo brings back memories even though Ive only been out of hamilton for about a month. Anyways,m nice video.. u did a good job if you held that camera in your hands. For hamiltons BUMPY roads im surprised your camera didnt break apart over all them bumps lmao.

  • thanks for the tour!

  • Good video pyat, it even inspires me to create a video of Hamilton.

  • im from the states but i love hamilton, every time i go there i find something new that i love. also its an easy score with teh women every time. they are pretty easy there.

  • Coolness... man... haven't heard this song for like... 6 years or more... :)

  • Thank you so much for this vid!

I love all the places you go. Damn, I love this city!

And such a good song! I hadn't heard it before. Very appropriate to use a Hamiltonian band. :)

  • You're welcome! And thanks.

  • Great video. Awesome to see some footage of Hamilton :)

  • Thanks - I'm going to shoot more with a better tripod setup at some point. Make it a bit more stable, etc.

  • this makes me homesick. nice song choice!

  • Thank you!

  • Great stuff man, I haven't been to hamilton in like 9 years, brought back good memories. :)

  • Thanks, and you're quite welcome!

  • Good job Pyat. Its refreshing to see someone actually take a little bit of pride in the Hammer!

  • Is it me, or does the Pyat-cam put an improving gloss on the old city?
