  • I live in the UK and we have a 2007 VW Touareg 2.5 TDI Altitude. It is nearly 4 years old and it only has 24,000 miles on it. I think that is about 38,000 km but I'm not sure. Anyway around the doors our car struggles to achieve 25mpg. But we don't care about that. It is in brand new condition. The gearbox or transmission for you americans is excellent. In Sport mode however it reaches about 3,800rpm before changing into 6th gear. But who would of though a 5 cylinder diesel would sound so good

  • @jonny2k100 nice, we never had the option of buying a 5 cylinder. I think the new ones are abit more efficient. I average around 40-45 UK MPG on the hwy. Glad to hear yours is still working great.

  • @Spyster007. Thank you. We had a problem with the switch for the trunk. VW replaced it free of charge as it was still under warranty. I have to say it is the best car I have even had the privelage of being in in my whole life. I thought that a 5 cylinder diesel would be terrible. It is very very good however. It is limited to about 114mph I think. But it has so much torque. It easily cruises along doing 80mph. Infact we have to keep our eye on the speedo to make sure we dont go to fast :)

  • Wooo!!!!

  • @JGCS60 could be anything, from bad fuel to a dying hpfp from a previous missfueling. I haven't had even one issue with mine in the past year and 25,000 km. It's been flawless...

  • @rangerstre 225

  • no rollout only a slight brake stand to increase revs into the power band before brake release.

  • That's awesome !

Getting my 3.0 TDi bluemotion 2011 in a few days - I calculate you managed 0-100km/h here in approximately 7 seconds flat with a slight roll out ? That's almost the same as what I've seen 4.2 TDi's achieve (due to the extra 120kg they weigh).

    Best engine from VW/Audi !

  • @WusmanOriginal I agree this engine is pretty awesome, I think it fits perfectly with excellent economy/performance for this vehicle. Haven't been happier. To top it off i'm averaging similar fuel economy to my wife's 07' hyundai elantra. You can't beat it.
