right now i am playing this song for my level 8 CM (piano test). this is by far the greatest, most expressive, and NOT too rushed version on Youtube.  Helped me get the feel for this song without having to listen to a whole blur of too fast music. GREAT INTERPRETATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!

@wsckky It is a good interpretation. But I still think it could've been executed more soft. Afterall the piece is generally in piano and pianissimo. I think this is too strenuous actually.

Nothing strenuous about this reading.. Total fluid, with cresting, round, crescendi when needed. The piece is well contoured, shaped, and interpreted.

Long before I read your comments Cello0522, I too was struck by the "race" so many others perform this piece in.

When I first came upon this performance after trying several others, I listened to it several times drinking it in like fine wine to be sipped and savoured over and over.

Then I read the comments.

The speed, intonation and timing evoked in this performance express far more the feeling of the work as expressed in the notes laid down by Debussy.

Best intrepretation on youtube so far

I actually cried when I found out this piece was used in twilight, childish reaction really. But, this is one of favourite pieces and I played it from a young age. I really have grown to love this piece.

My daughter is playing this piece, so I was going thru youtube and finally landed on this one for her to reference. This is it!

God, am I touched by this. Absolutely perfect speed (I just don't understand why some people like to play it so fast), great depth & just the right amount of finger pressure for such beatiful tonal quality.

I got everyting I was looking for about interpretation. Heavenly!

It is very beautiful. I like the how he phrases lines by pedaling and the dynamic balace of the whole piece. However, I would prefer a soften and more gentle approach overall.
