If somebody made a video of astronauts in space and then used it to claim that gravity doesn't exist, even the neocons who think this video proves something would say the anti-gravity video left out important facts. This video leaves out the history of the CRA and Phil Gramm's 1999 legislation that allowed banks and companies like AIG to do the things that caused the meltdown. And it ignores every vote McCain cast for deregulation. Leaving out important facts does not prove anything.

Unless you watched these CSPAN broadcasts in their entirety then you can't know how these clips were cherrypicked. A GOP-controlled Congress pushed thru a Phil Gramm (R-Texas) bill that made it possible for banks to do all these things. So, no, the vid doesn't hammer home the "root cause" - ask John "The Deregulator" McCain about that.

The video doesn't show that in 2005 Barney Frank co-wrote a bill with Repub. Mike Oxley to increase regulation but the GOP killed it. You can also do your own research on H.R. 1461 [109th]: Federal Housing Finance Reform Act of 2005 and how there was bipartisan support until the GOP leadership killed it. The bottom line is, Congress was a rubber stamp for Bush from 2001 until the end of 2006. They had majorities in both houses.

P.S. If the Democrats were rubberstamping everything Obama did, your irrelevant argument might have some merit, but it doesn't.
