I just learned to skate last year and pretty much suck, but I found these skates the 2008 U+ model for 160$ will these skates be good for me? I just bought at the end of last season CCM Vector 03... is the 160$ worth it for me?
ive had these skates for about a year now and there really good. the only problem i have had is the way they hold up. there not the most durable skates out there but preformance wise there great
The best combination would be to have the CCM's but to install the Bauer Tuuk holders and blades. And go with copper rivets on teh whole skate instead of the mushroom type nail on the holder.
That's what I have and I love it. Fits great and corners like crazy. I also found out that what a lot of pro's do! You can find some "pro" models like that on eBay. If not, email me for my recommendation on these 2 skates.
i got these skates for 170 and it was deffinately worth it best skates iv ever had theyre increibly light and i have the traitional steel blade so i cant even imagine how light with the rocket runner,i play defense and there is no pain while getting hit in the foot. i would deff. recomend these skates
get the u+ reloaded skates.. they are more expensive but definately worth it, ccm worked out all the kinks that were in this skate. I had 40's, and i liked them but there are not nearly as good as the u+ reloaded
hey need someones help i just bought ccm skates and they are sore on my feet but when i tie them tight is cuts the circulation but i can gain more spped and control is that a good thing
actually, they are both about the same, eastons are supposed to be wider at the balls of your feet, and tighter at the ankles, ccm is supposed to just be a normal fit
So if you have wider feet, get eastons, but then again, you can always get the ccms in like an e width
I would reccomend not buying them online, and going to a pro shop and see how they feel, and then make a decision
i just bought the v08's with the rocket runners. is it true you can't rocker the rocket runners? i've used ccm for 15 years and have always rockered them to slant a touch forward.
This model had problems, so it's being replaced by 2009 model with all the fixed issues. As far as if they fall apart, different people had different experience. Good luck
I got a pair to test out. They are light, but you have to take care of them. The Surlyn cover tends to bubble when it gets wet and those bubbles can split.
Also, that Rocket Runner is ridiculous. If you don't have an experienced sharpener, they will just ruin the runner. It melted on mine.
Other than that, it's been fairly durable. And INCREDIBLY light.
i had these skates for 4 months and they fell apart. the "mesh" on the outside ripped immediately and the inside lining ripped aswell. not to mention they r beyond uncomfertable even after baking them. i just got the new rbk white 9k's and i love them. if u still want the u+ plus skates wait till the new ones come out. a reebok rep came to my lhs and they improved on alot of the components.
It all depends on how wide your feet are, personally I can wear Nike Bauer or CCM, the rest are just too narrow for my feet.
I'm going to check my local skate shop tomorrow to see what I can get, i'll probably end up with CCM Vector 02's... I don't want to spend too much on em.
hey um just a suggestion but it would be nice if you could review the "cheaper" but good quality skates because with the economy in the USA and all i cant afford 400 or 500 dollars skates
Yeah i like their stuff as well. I have their rbk 5k skates, and they seem to be pretty damn good. But I don't know how many pumps your suppose to give them?
they are having problems with this skate if you are having trouble take them back to your retailer ccm will credit you for them. saw the new u plus pro worth waiting for!!!
very nice skate but they fall apart so quickly. I had a pair of these for about 2 months and now they are falling apart too quick. Such a shame becuase it actually feels like its a part of your foot.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.
I am either going to get these skates or the Vapor XXXX.
It seems like both of them have good things to them.
I especially like how the CCm U+ look.
Any recomendations?
Tips?
Opinions?
Thanks.

these skates suck.
During the middle of the year the blade was nearly gone, and the blade bends everytime you take a puck to them.
$350-give or take a few bucks. Not worth it don't bother.
