The joy of making something, and seeing it work. That's my main joy in programming and hacking. That in itself is the main reward that I want if I make something, is to release something dear to me, and let people see it and use it.
@NahKidChillWithThat The song at 10:55 is Neil Young's "Computer Age" from the album "Trans." This album was very weird for Neil, as it sounds a hell of a lot like Kraftwerk. His record company sued him for making that album to weird and un-marketable.
@LivinInHisWord In case you didnt notice, those people shaped how we live today. Take a close look at your life around you. Apple is the best example but not the only one.
And as yourself: What did I do to change the world like they did?
@miziphus I've changed the world in many ways but thankfully, not by hacking into people's computers & therefore changing someone [actually many people's lives] for the worse. I can well admire intelligence but not if it only used for evil purposes.
@LivinInHisWord Oh, thats the missunderstanding: back then they used the word "Hacker" for a person who programs something for the sake of trying out what the computer can do. Those people where basically experimenting with computers because no one else did. So by the word "Hackers" they dont mean people hacking into your computer but people who "hack" (code) down a program to make it work as fast as possible .They where those who started Silicon Valley, the GNU Project, Apple etc. in the Video.
arguing with ten year old kids , cyber democracy, ironic im learning about this topic on a personal computer running a program that runs a program that runs another program called youtube...that allows me to argue with ten year old little shits on the otherside of the world
These are programmers. Unfortunately hackers require the help of crackers to be all that they can be. I remember when i accessed thru lower ports than 192. I also remember some of my best hacking was on online games thru ANCII & Hexadecimal code scanning. Its a bit tougher to hack with ipv4 or PSN systems when you have firewalls on WPA, but you can hack WEP right outside their house with a remote wifi laptop. I was pretty successful at writing my own functions thru Java. I wrote a slideshow
@tothxalot the bald guy with the bangs is Brian Harvey, a computer science professor today, I think he's at Berkely... there's quite a long list of lectures by him on /UCberkeley 's channel.
@xdddddddxdxddxxxdxxx This isnt IRC. LMAO. No ones gonna hack you while Google relays the server packets thru a secured network. This brings back memories, ROFL.. J/K

@garfrankwyn Thank you, so much. Do you know if the song at 13:23 is also by Young? Because they sound slightly similar.

@garfrankwyn Disregard that last comment, I looked up Kraftwerk and found it. Thanks again. :)

These days one could claim apples success is due to the opposite.
