  • ¿Porqué es tn baja la resolución de todos los clips?, es desesperante

  • Nothing sounds as good as.....

  • scientifico, well said, i know exactly what you mean!

  • I get choked up just by the first five chords. Man, the far away memories, only revisited on lonely friday nights.

  • WOW just realised what these lyrics could mean in both a positive and negative way with someone you trusted

  • Prefab. The musical jewel I own that no one else seems to know about. Their songs are pure class and poetry and feeling. Thanks for my uncles for including their amazing songs in all my mixed tapes from the 90's... otherwise, I might never have known them! They are... exquisite!

  • What a class act Mr. McAloon & Co. were.

  • A very fine and sophisticated pop song. Incredible that a band like this has a low profile. One of the best Pop-Jazz bands of the U.K. Art in the more pure essence.

  • This band was really fabulous... what a sound!

  • Absolutely brilliant, open hearted music. As precious as gold. God bless you Paddy.

  • this song breaks my heart. wendy is such a babe in this vid too!! :)

  • Paddy McAloon is a f**cking genius . . . 'nuff said

  • Underrated??? He was one one of the greatest back then! and still! I love it

  • its amazing that madonna never tried to bag him to better her credibility. Silly cow

  • This band was just....AMAZING =) !!!

  • Much 2 talented eva 2 b mega . Still great .Happy days

  • Heart breakingly gorgeous.............

  • Makes me feel good to know I'm not alone in my love for this band. Strive for quality in relative obscurity or pimp out yourself and make millions. Tough choice. Especially in a world that needs substance more than ever. LOVE PS. And LOVE THE FANS OF PS. Excelsior!

  • Doesn't get better than this.......makes me wanna weep when I think of my teenage years........if only we could turn back time. I remember seeeing them in 1985 at Portsmouth when Steve McQueen came out.....I was 16....sigh..

  • I was in my mid 30's in the mid '80's and discovered this "Two Wheels Good" cassette. Absolutely wore it out, I'm 59 now and it still is like new, still shimmers brilliantly. It brings very precious memories to me and my wife of when we were dating.

  • It's sooooo good!

  • great music and existential angst and meanderings and questions - but what is memory? what is life? like a bolt out of the blue- do you feel it too?

  • sproutnet, this was the last of the promotional videos to be produced before the hiatus. The PV followed "Life of Surprises" and was released sometime during the early part of 1993. SKCD64, if I remember properly.

But you already knew this, I'm sure.

  • Aswell as their two large compilation albums,I have Jordan:The Comeback,Protest Songs,Andromeda Heights,The Gunman and other Stories and Lets Change the world with music! But "From Langley Park to Memphis" is on it`s way and I still haven`t heard in full "Nancy let your hair down for me". I don`t quite know what it is about this band that I love so much. They remind me of being a kid enjoying the rural life. I just love `em!!!

  • @SuperPhilipG

So you have Langley Park AND Steve McQueen still to come ! Talk about saving the best 'till last.

  • Nancy let your hair down for me? I'm sure he wrote that for his wife. the lady in prefab sprout somthing about working too hard?.( IM not quite sure?)

  • this is their greatest album.

  • After being a fan since '85 I saw the Swoonster at the Newcastle City Hall. After all the years, and with Paddy's views on touring would I be disappointed?? The first chord of this as the opening song and I knew everything was going to be fantastic. This is yet another huge song from probably the best song writer of his ( or many other) generation.

  • Nothing sounds as good as I Remember That

Like a bolt out from the blue, did you feel it too ?

(Now I almost want to cry, this is all my teenage years)

  • I think From Langley Park is their best record. Nothing beats Nightingales.

  • Nothing.

  • As much as i love this album, there's a little voice at the back of my mind saying "it's just not quite as good as Steeve McQueen".

  • Is anything quite as good as SM ?

  • One thing I love about Prefab Sprout is that they can easily flow from JAZZY-BOSSA NOVA (Horsing Around) to ROCK (Bonny) to DISCO (If You Don't Love Me) to COUNTRY & WESTERN... and in whatever style, Paddy is capable to write such emotional music.

  • Prefab Sprout lo máximo... is the better.. ilke me your song.......!!!

  • if your in your early 40s listening to this, it will reduce you to tears, i bought every album in order of release, and ive kept them all, going to re listen to them and never put them back in my loft again, i know people think they where underated but i dont agree, if you was my age in the 80s, you just knew that your secret weapon when you felt down, was to put on some prefab sprout and melt away, paddy had it all, the voice, the looks and the songs !

  • I agree :)

  • Very nice Wendy looks so great

  • Just perfect............

  • Is it just me, or does Paddy look just like Macca here? Love the smile he shoots at Wendy at 1:50. Adorable!

  • It's a hell of a ride, but a journey to dust. Pretty much sums it up. Cherish your memories. Prefab Sprout will never be forgotten. Bless you, Paddy.

  • I remember this as well and nothing does sound as good.

How can one man have so much songwriting genius?

I agree with ulielmar, it's about time the music world acknowledged and honoured this mans contribution to creative songwriting. Love it.

  • Respect to the Sprout!!!

  • Los he seguido desde que comenzaron y me parecen una banda de pop muy interesante, bien por los PREFAB....

  • i remember that this song is brilliant cant wait for the new album :P prefab foreverr

  • One of the greatest...

  • Wow they are Awesome! But the song is lovely & sad, yet so true.....

  • Paddy McAloon is one of great Music writers, so underrated !

  • Why is Paddy not writing a show for the West End or Broadway? I'd see any show he wrote the music or book for.

  • Perfection.

  • Is there a "perfect" song out there??? YES, there is , it's THIS one! There should be a Noble Prize for Music, and Prefab Sprout should have won it several times.

  • Paddy get the Sprouts back!!! You are the only singer that REALLY made me cry... Life of surprises! Merci!

    xxo

  • Es una de sus mejors canciones PREFAB SPROUT, excelente banda

  • great tune,.........

  • So many memories...in my top 10 of all times. Warm voice, perfect music.

  • The Sprouts can't be beaten for top quality, inventive songs. Paddy's top class.

  • my fave prefab sprout song........just beautiful.

  • A very underrated songwriter of our generation with one of the most capturing voices - warm soulful and soothing...

  • @Chillednfunked Amen!

  • ja, dich mein ich baby

  • ise söhn gelle,

  • LOVE IT!!

His voice is so awesome!! x

  • I'm brave tonight !

This song tugs at my heart and makes wonder about things that might have been ............Ho-hum!

  • come on - this guy is our best bet for pure compostion - the whole thing sounds so easy, but the song is complex.; someone else said 'cole porter' - it's more than that.

    love - the fifth

  • a masterpiece!!!

  • This video is just the perfect way to show the Prefab Sprout - Jeez this is too much.

    Wonderful.

  • Nothing sounds as good as listening to this song over and over and over.

  • 'nothing sounds as good as.....' this song. the album is legendary. wow this track is sooooo awesome. smooth classy and emotional. the way a great track should be. this album is in my top 50 of all time for sure. i wish i was in the studio when they made all this coz it wouldve been heaven to me.

    and umm... noel who?... rofl

  • ANOTHER McAloon masterpiece.

Can some kind fan upload I'm 49 Divorced please ?

  • This song is the one I always make people listen to when i want to explain the feeling I have when I remember good times we had way back when.. there's no other song that does that for me.

it,s linked to a certain time and place.. and it works everytime.

    Glad you posted it

    :)

  • Two Wheels Good is like that for me. It brings me right back to my first year at UCLA, such an amazing collection of songs, so emotionally intelligent, it's like a time machine.

  • to redrob67 . I agree. Gallagher is just afterbirth. the negative cunt. fuck him and his retarded brother. paddy is a genius and made me very happy.

  • I'm not even sure the names McAloon and Gallagher make any sense in the same sentence. Gallagher is simply non-existant, he is nothing and deserves to be remembered as nothing.

It fuckng kills me that Oasis had 100 times the success that PS should have had. It looks like people aren't meant to undestand geniuses, so I guess PS/Japan/Blue Nile's obscenely underrated talent and musicianship is kind of "logic".

  • Couldnt agree more !

  • you´re right oasis is good but Prefab sprout is excelent!

  • Blessed are those who, as sentient teenagers, bucked the trend and discovered McAloon and his unequalled talent to give voice and unlifting harmonies to nostalgia, love and loss and all stations in between. 'Steve McQueen' sits alongside 'Baby, The Stars Shine Bright' as one my favourite albums at age 13, and, still remain amongst my favourite albums at 36.

  • right on shuiemacphee! got those two albums....theyre ultra talented songwriters and lyricist......

  • Nice one, govindasantos. Great to know that someone half-way across the world has the same, clued-up, taste in music. Good on you.

  • It's official, Paddy McAloon is a genius and Noel Gallagher is a far distant also-ran.

    Discuss.

  • années 80 aussi mytique que les années 60

    yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaarr

  • when i try to sing along, there always feels like tears are welling and I get all choked up. this song makes me feel so...nostalgic (as if "I remember that" speaks of a rainy night walking across a NY college quad, and smoking cloves with a girl who paints on her dorm room walls wearing dead man shoes on her soft pretty feet.)

you guys know what i mean!!!!

  • Sprout are my alternative musical universe, my Broadway, my escape from the banality of most 'pop music'. All hail McAloon!

  • I don't have a favorite Prefab song. I think they all have a special charm. I will say that this is a great song. Ok...the best song is: cruel...no wait...bearpark.

  • got from langley park on original 180 gram vinyl, it's such a great record that i had my roksan repaired to play it again.....£285 well spent i'd say

  • Best Paddy song. Genius.

  • How did you get the video in HQ?

  • Damn, bless you for posting this. Utterly fantastically brilliant.

  • Tremendous!

Although I loved The Smiths, The Go-Betweens, Crowded House, Frazier Chorus, The Kane Gang, Blue Nile, Talk Talk, The Pogues etc. during the 80s, it was Paddy and the rest of the Sprouts who really did it for me.

I really hope Paddy's on the road to recovery and I can't wait for any new stuff that might surface.

  • Bloody 'ell - I suspect you might be me.

  • By the way, that was in response to redrob67 :-)

  • Paddy McAloon and Grant McLennan are pretty much my definition of great songwriters.

In case you haven't heard, Kitchenware Records have confirmed that a new Sprout album is due in early '09...

  • All hail McAloon.

    A new album doth await.

Long live the King Of Rock And Roll!

  • What a great pleasure! One more thank for posting this video. I remmember every day that Prefab are the jewel of lyrics and songs...

  • Yeah, it's 99% sure it was done at the same time as "If You Don't Love Me" (the dancing cabaret girls are even there)

Seeing as this song was re-released when the "Life Of Surprises" best of came out, it all makes sense.

    Thx for uploading, Jamie :)

  • Thanks for uploading this!!!

  • Was looking for this some time ago and now its here! Thanks for uploading.

  • Absolutely brilliant! Thanks for posting this gem!

  • I really thought I had dreamed this video, but no - it opens the way I thought with the piano keyboard. So, I do remember that...

Are you sure it wasn't sent in by God for all JJ's unfailing support?

  • Absolutely fantastic!!!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • WOW!! Sensacional Video. Prefab Sprout forever

  • Well done Jamie I knew there was a video for this somewhre. Fantastic stuff!!!!

  • Shall I be the first one to say that this is lovely...
