Bono is a legendary entertainer indeed. You don't have to be dead to be legendary. But that's not the point, the point is that Bono has entertained more people than Hendrix and most of those guys back in the 60s. Bono and U2 have created more projects to contribute to the music industry than most entertainers. People these days just hate U2 or don't like them but come on, look at the records, the awards, the music, every simple note. U2 will be in the books, actually they already are.

Hendrix played big gigs but he had a different attitude. Bobby Darin could not and probably would not have wanted to play stadiums. If you look at videos of Free playing to thousands of people at the IOW festival it's just a completely different scene.
