  • I saw their news coverage on kashmir and all they showed are one sided view of whole problem. Some of the guys even gave wrong figures and information to prove their point. They infact never talked about militancy from other side (Pakistan). NO wonder such things can't go on for long.

  • George Galloway, Yvonne Ridley, Lauren Booth, Tariq Ramadan... Accusations of bias, no really I wonder why?

  • Even this report was highly biased.

  • British media is always biased especially the BBC

    HYPOCRISY

  • I'm British but have good Iranian friends. Fox News is crap! A talking head channel full of hot air ego's funded by Murdoch's neo-con right wing greed! Press TV is also crap. Funded by a theocratic stalinistic tyranny whereby if news doesn't favour It's footholing extremist agenda, it's either ignored or twisted! i just say more power to the people where common British and Iranians just want to be friends. And to hell with the religious and the corporate greed power hungry corrupt!

  • George Galloway, a man of the left, supports THE most repressive, totalitarian, supremacist, racist, misogynist and hateful religion that has ever existed on earth - Islam.

He supports the Muslim community who bring with them misogyny, repression, a drain on the economy through welfare, "honour" killings, female genital mutilation (FGM), hate-preaching, gang-rapes and hostility to the native “Kuffar” host population wherever there has ever been a significant Muslim minority.

    Way to go George.

  • they dont like muslims at all now there having a go at a muslim news or w.e

  • Its funny watching PressTV try to defend itself. This is a network that clearly has anti American and anti-EU agenda. Any network that is not independant from the government of the country in which it is based must be subject to scrutiny and Press TV NEVER criticises the regime in Tehran. Western networks like the BBC certainly have their faults but their success is based largely on the fact they do not take orders from any government.

  • while on the other hand we have seen fox (remember the lady accused of racism thru a fabricated video in agricultural dept??), cnn(expulsion of sr. reporter for respecting a shia cleric),bbc(presenting opinionated reports that stir violence in iran)..all acting in exact opposition to conscious reporting standards that shud aim at informing rather than misinforming to the extent of manipulating public.Sorry to say,but racism amongst the western poplation is a consequence of pathetic media netwrks

  • ..making the possibility of peace returning to the country remote. The latter being exactly desired by rupert murdoch and those like him. I am sure these accusations are not the end of it all. Press tv will have to d=face more like these, becasue unfortunately there are more manipulated viewrs in the west who have sole their brains(whatever little they have in there), to the mind controlling media lobby.press tv is the voice of oppressed and not a single report it has presented lacks substance..

  • This accusation of bias by Rupert Murdoch and others of his kind in British and American media is not really surprising. People should go and read the mission and vision statement of Press tv. The zionist controlled media networks do not like the plight of the oppressed highlighted. Post election Iranian protests were covered more clearly by Press tv than BBC whose reporters presented opinionated reports causing their expulsion from Iran, rightly so becuz their opinions cud stir more agitation..

  • @doi9r

The BBC is not owned by Murdoch. I don't like Fox News either- but it does not get its orders from Washington.

  • The comments from the British about concerns over repression against proteters are priceless. How many children did Britain murder in Ireland, Africa, India, Iraq...

  • @tj2tone

I agree colonialism has robbed Muslim and non-Muslims of are resources.

  • I go to press tv to see what lies they are writing about. It is quite entertaining.

  • propaganda tv

  • Of course it's Bias.. let's face it, I have watched Press TV, it pretends to be Un-biased... what a laugh.... have you ever seen George Galloway....

Unless you are stupid, you couldn't even contemplate a fair election... and why, if as the Iranian press and government stated, a vast majority supported (the dictator) did they have to stop/ban Text messaging-Facebook-email-foreign press.

Only the stupid would believe, and now look at the state of Iran!

  • @easy1355

George Galloway has actually come on Sky News, BBC. He became an MP in 2005.

    Long Live Iran !!!

  • Press TV is fundend by the Iranian Government. Perhaos you can see our concern here...

  • @EurocratsComeNotHere

Even the BBC is funded by the British government.

  • @1802ibrahim

The BBC is independant from the British government- if not then why do you think British cabinet ministers are asked tough questions by the BBC. Why do you think news reports are occasionally critical of the British government. In fact some have accused the BBC of being anti-American!

Im certainly not saying the BBC is perfect. There are aspects of it I don't like but it cannot be compared to Press TV. It is the worlds largest broadcaster for a reason- its professionalism.

  • @EurocratsComeNotHere Learn to spell i hate faggits who dropped out of school

  • @EurocratsComeNotHere

BBC is funded by the british goverment....And ppl call them unbiased..

  • it is west who wearing uniform of blood head to toe. and science your eyes are in blood, west see every one terrorist. you can not be open minded because minds are filled with garbage of posing media. If your for freedom then you should be happy that it is healthy for democracy but west have double standard on that..

  • I feel disgusted after reading some of the comments here. Shame on the brainwashed Basijis. Of course they have a uniform. It's a white shirt with Khaki trousers and a handgun! what are you talking about man? Were the people who are shooting from the roof of a mosque just ordinary people? Do you really think people believe your rubish?

Do not defend Ahmadinejhad man , he has closed his eyes on the killings of muslims in China and just condemns the kiling of a woman in Germany. What a fair man.

  • "It's a white shirt with Khaki trousers and a handgun!"

That is not a uniform. A gun and a pair of Khakis do not a uniform make. Anybody has access to both of these things in Iran - and neither are directly related to the Basijj.

Speaking of Mosques - it was your kind that attacked a Mosque during the unrest. So much for the "peaceful" image that Western media outlets paint of Mousavi supporters. More like logic of the crowbar..

  • ok think about how many american and British solders killed innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan and pakistan it is more then holocaust

it is west on roof top of church killing innocent people on the name of war on terror, it is war of terror against humanity.

you care for animals more then any one out of west so wake up and your are responsible as much if you not raise voice against crimes

your blinded by BBC you have lock on you minds and hearts.

  • What does British soldiers have to do with Iran? Of course they kill people in Iraq and I think they must be punished for that. I dont support them at all. They are exactly like Iranian Basiji's who kill innocent people.

  • Your bias is when the regime beats and shoots it's citizen you never report it and you never report their crimes.

If that's not bias what is?

    People are not stupid.

  • Did you not even watch the clip?

No matter - reformists only hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see. They are the champions of the martyr complex.

  • Yes I watched it, I also watched Press-TV's previous 100 posts plus I check press-tv's website everyday, and as always their news totally avoids all accusations of regime crimes over the people. It's easy to label people, in America they call anyone with a brain a "Liberal" in Iran the regime's police shoots Neda and claims it was a CIA agent! (the video of shooter on youtube), yes a caller said something against the regime, but have you ever seen Press-TV to report any of regime crimes?! once?

  • Comment removed

  • Your comment was deleted but that video says "The shooting is suspicious" then the Press-TV commentator tries to make listeners believe that the shot didn't come from anti-demonstration-police, by saying the bullet was 9mm which is not used in law enforcement.

The video below clearly shows that the shot came from a police-uniformed man from about 150 meters away:watch this video:

Neda Neda's Killer , Iran Neda before she gets shot by Bassidji basidj Iran

  • For some reason, I can't re-reply to your previous post.

I will ask a few questions none the less.

    1) When have the Basijj forces ever worn a uniform?

    2) Where is there evidence of anyone in the Basijj shooting Neda?

    3) What do you know of Neda's background?

    4) Has the Mousavi crowd used Neda's death as a symbol despite the woman being attatched to neither the pro or anti Ahmadinejad demonstrators?

  • 1.Since the regime hired them as anti-demonstration thug-force (with no name on their uniform just a stick, pepper-spray and helmet) BUT, I didn't say Basij, I said Police-Uniformed man, you know, the motorcycles plus the men walking, 3 forces beat and shot our citizens: Police+anti-demonstration thug-army+civilian Basiji army.

2.The last line of previous comment was the evidence(video name)

    3. Who cares what Neda's background is?! she is shot dead by the police! She's an Iranian.

    4.continued

  • 4. Don't justify regime's crimes by making propaganda comments. No one used Neda or any of the other 15-20 who regime thugs murdered. This is not the matter of Musavi or Ahmadinejad, as far as I'm concerned both are major criminals with their hands in blood, Musavi from begining of revolution supporting the executions and ahmadinejad who was Khalkhali's executioner.

Before now they only killed indirectly in hiding but now our fake, unelected leader khamenehii has ordered to kill citizens.

  • 4. There was nothing about my comments which indicated that they were "propaganda" - they are merely opinions. You claim in your profile to value them, but if they don't fit into your Liberal paradigm you'd rather supress them. The fact is that the reformists HAVE and CONTINUE to use Neda's death to their own peverted ends.

As for the Khalhali, Ahmadinejad and Khamenaei comments - well, you've just spoken volumes about what sort of an agenda you have. Please stay in the West - we'd prefer it.

  • 1. Please, this sounds like utter conspiracy theory nonsense. "The Regime" seems to take on a life on it's own when talked about in such a way - as if they are some Soviet throwback, and only deluded exiles perpetuate such nonsense.

    2. That is not evidence.

    3. My point is that the reformists - particularly "reformists" (read Monarchists, exiled Communists and oligarchs) in the West are using her as a symbol of their "cause" when in reality she was a victim of rioting CAUSED by the REFORMISTS.

  • I don't care who uses Neda's death for what reasons. What I care about is that Neda got killed by an armed anti-demonstration uniformed police.

Back during revolution when a police officer murdered a citizen even a violent citizen, revolutionaries would arrest the chief of police/army and execute him.

You're trying to politicize a simple act of murder by the regime, & if you don't know what the regime is, IT'S A COMBINATION OF ABOUT 500 MULLAHS,50,000 PASDARS & 1,000,000 FANATIC BASIJI THUGS.

  • But you don't know exactly who killed Neda, do you? What makes you an expert on how to spot the difference between an un-uniformed policeman with a gun and a rioter with a gun?

Furthermore, your post is utterly contradictory - YOU are the one trying to politicise the death of Neda.

As for your "analysis" of what the regime is - well, it just reveals your own ignorance and tendency towards reductionism and hyperbole.

  • Who are you trying to defend?

Didn't you watch the video of Uniformed riot-police (walking next to motor-cycle police) shooting toward Neda while she walked next to the old man in striped blue T-shirt??

Haven't you seen the hundreds of videos of anti-demonstration un-named/uniformed thugs beating women in the streets?

Where were you during 1978-1979? did you see what happened? did you see how many innocent people they executed to steal the power in Iran?

And you call me ignorant you jackass?

  • excuse me! we don't know who did shoot all these people in iran?!?

use this website to see who was shooting iranians from tehran to esfehan...

people like are worst than those who did these crimes !!! i don't know how these BASIJIS sleep at night maybe they feel shame maybe they don't but you are the one who see these crimes and support them!

I am iranian and love my country and my countryman are the Iran that i love , you need to know jackass this is a wrong time to open your big mouth!!!

  • Youtube is perhaps the WORST source for unbiased information about Iran. When do videos on youtube ever come with a date, or even a detailed location to where the event took place - Youtube is merely an outlet for those looking for a pornography of violence - we have seen this with Darfur, we have seen this with Georgia/Ossetia, we have now seen it with Iran.

And yes I do support the Basijj - despite what you brainwashed and Westernised "Persians" try to paint them as.

  • Comment removed

  • *Sigh*

For the last time - Basiji don't HAVE a uniform. The only time they wear anything even resembling a uniform is when they have marches - and even then, they wear basic army fatigues and a headband - nothing that indicates "Basijj".

Eyewitnesses have also come out and said that they do not think it was the Basijj that shot Neda - Press TV has also covered this, and I recommend that you do some research.

I don't even understand where point four comes into the equation..

  • Mousavi's supporters are based predominantly in the more affluent urban areas of Iran. Despite UN figures detailing that Iran is now for the most part an urbanised country - the majority of "urban" areas more or less still resemble the country's rural parts. Ahmadinejad has his support base amongst the poorest and most disenfranchised peoples of the country - and they are found in these rural areas, whilst Mousavi only seems to care about the richest segments.

  • His supporters are simply jaded and unable to come to terms with the fact that they do NOT represent the majority of Iranians - they are affluent, bilingual (mostly speaking both Farsi and English) and educated - whilst the majority of the population are poor, speak only Farsi and have only basic (if that) levels of education. These are the masses - it just seems that Mousavi's supporters aren't used to the democratic principle of "by the people, for the people". You are NOT the people.

  • Blah, blah blah.

If you really want to become Westernised - learn the English language properly at least. Your masters require that you worship them in the English tongue.
