wasnt here when the flood happened. Me and my daughter stayed behind in PA. thank god we did. we came back just as soon as it was gone which was may 14
for what would take a 300km drive back to my hometown for me took over 1500km spread across 2 days non stop driving and waiting for flood waters to lower tell me how a 3 h drive could be worse we had nothing with us we had to evacuate from our houses the cyclone was at a category 5 with possible over 6m or taller tsunami type waves expected and all you had was over flow of rivers we had houses destroyed people injured but luckily my home town dodged the bullet the town of cardwell was destroyd
Wow! Tennessee is really having some real serious flooding problems! Hopefully Tennessee will start looking for ways for better drainage systems to prevent this?
@patsaxon It isn't just Tennessee, around the same time or the very next weekend it happened in or near Lexington KY and now Arkansas. Flooding has been a problem for alot of places here lately. Something I hope to NEVER live through or endure EVER again! My daughters lost everything in the Millington TN flooding. God Bless ALL!
Does anyone have eyes to see all the calamities that are happening and ears to hear the cry for hope? Despair is sweeping the hearts of man. People! I plea with you to hear me and understand God’s judgment is coming upon this world. Man’s final 7yrs in this age is rapidly approaching. If any of you think all the disasters (Oil disaster, volcanoes, FINANCIAL COLLAPSE, etc.) that’s happening so far this year is nothing then keep believing that, and let those who are wise understand the times.
ther is so much devastation wer i live and we havnt seen any government...me and all my friends who are normally playin xbox are going out and helpin the community. tennesseans take care of tennesseans
Where is the outcry? Where is FEMA ? Where is everyone screaming for whitey to come help them, as there was in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina ? The squeaky wheel gets the grease. All I have seen is people helping each other and taking care of things.
@Deiradinn I know hon I lived down there a long time, y'all are the wrong color, but we can take care of ourselves, that's the good thing about being white.
@Deiradinn If I have to answer that, you are more of a brainwashed idiot that I thought. So when was the last time you heard about this on TV etc? Wher'es FEMA? Where's the blame ? Where are the people of West Tenn. yelling for whitey to come and save them ?
@DoctorsAnLawyers Screw FEMA! My daughters were in the Millington TN flooding & lost everything! One of my daughters got approved luckily but she is one of the very few & select that FEMA has DECIDED to help!?!? God Bless All that weathered & endured the storm & lost anything & everything!
@1970sarteaga HHhhheeeelllppp whitey hhhheeeeellllpppp ! Oh wait, that beez da niggas in New Orleans. All I ever see when these things happen in predominantly white areas are whites helping each other. Good luck to you and your daughters. We are white. We will survive and make it IN SPITE of the lack of help and discrimination (yes discrimination) towards us.
Thank you 1070sarteaga. I am sorry to hear about your daughters home and vehicles but i am glad to hear she is safe. You guys, as well as my family, will overcome this tragedy all we need is love and support. Wish you well
Thank you for posting this. I was evacuated from a camping trip in Land Between the Lakes and couldn't get home to Milan, TN for 4 days. Never could have imagined this would happen to us.
@blasphenomical I got stuck as well Sat nite in Jackson and then went back to Memphis where my daughter lived & lost everything and didn't make it home to Martin until Monday AM @ 10 AM. Right b4 the levee broke in Dyersburg!
So many lives were lost that weekend. I was in Nashville at a convention and we had to drive back home in that terrible storm. I have a video of a small bit of what we drove next to, but thankfully it wasn't as bad on the way home.
My home is in Jackson, but I live in Martin. Like you said, took me 3 hours as well to find a way back. I heard they got Three Way back open. I have no idea how they did though. I thought the bridges were going to collapse.
@NBAGOATS The bad storms moved into the West TN area late Friday PM, which was April 30th but the worst part of it started after midnight which was May 1st and then it continued all weekend. Do you understand now?
@1970sarteaga Yea but, what i mean is, if it started in April how is it that the flood didn't happen until May? If the flood started in April shouldn't it have occured in April and was over by May? Is it a flood that happend in April or May? Because if it started in May then maybe it would have occurred in April. But it didn't happen that way. It actually happened reverse. Or did it? Gosh, this is so confusing.
@NBAGOATS U r confusing the hell outta me and I was there!!! It started Fri night, April 30th late or early AM hours of Saturday May 1st and it continued into all weekend. So I guess you could say it happened in May. The first weekend of May. How's that?
@1970sarteaga - Got it. thanks. I also had my dates mixed up. I thought it actually started the beginning of april , and didn't get around to reporting until May and therefore labeling this flood as a flood that occurred in May. But you cleared it up. thanks....lol. my mistake
@iBlowYouKisses God Bless your family affected by the storm. My daughter lived in Memphis Mobile City and it flooded and they lost everything, vehicles and all. My boyfriends car was there and lucky we were 10 minutes down the road between Millington & Frayser where it wasn't quite as bad but still bad. Hope your family "weathers" alright.
omg!..its so bad..im from sharon tennesseee very close to martin..i know real well...its my hometown sharon is....i know jackson and milan memphis and nashville too...thank you so much for this......
I heard that siren enough these past few days to last a lifetime. Thoughts and prayers go out to all that have experienced lost. Thankfully all my family was spared damage and lives.
It was a hell of a rain,I was without power for a while.
Heard this morning on 101.5 we had 14.22 inches in 24 hours.
NOTE: Everyone that watches this video,Go buy you a ''battery'' powered weather radio. If you really want to CYA, Get a Red Cross crank/solar radio,A # 1...!
My family is from that area, I know Martin. My mother says she is ok, but roads are closed in the area. No phone service and no internet but she used the good ole cell!
i live up im MA, its been beautiful this week. but i have been hearing that its been the worst flooding since 1976 or something like that, im sorry that u need to deal with this man.
