Jackson Tennessee Flood May 1, 2010

for what would take a 300km drive back to my hometown for me took over 1500km spread across 2 days non stop driving and waiting for flood waters to lower tell me how a 3 h drive could be worse we had nothing with us we had to evacuate from our houses the cyclone was at a category 5 with possible over 6m or taller tsunami type waves expected and all you had was over flow of rivers we had houses destroyed people injured but luckily my home town dodged the bullet the town of cardwell was destroyd

Wow! Tennessee is really having some real serious flooding problems! Hopefully Tennessee will start looking for ways for better drainage systems to prevent this?

@patsaxon It isn't just Tennessee, around the same time or the very next weekend it happened in or near Lexington KY and now Arkansas. Flooding has been a problem for alot of places here lately. Something I hope to NEVER live through or endure EVER again! My daughters lost everything in the Millington TN flooding. God Bless ALL!

I plea with you to hear me and understand God’s judgment is coming upon this world. Man’s final 7yrs in this age is rapidly approaching. Thank you for posting this. I was evacuated from a camping trip in Land Between the Lakes and couldn't get home to Milan, TN for 4 days. Never could have imagined this would happen to us.

So many lives were lost that weekend. I was in Nashville at a convention and we had to drive back home in that terrible storm. I have a video of a small bit of what we drove next to, but thankfully it wasn't as bad on the way home.

My home is in Jackson, but I live in Martin. Like you said, took me 3 hours as well to find a way back. I heard they got Three Way back open. I have no idea how they did though. I thought the bridges were going to collapse.

@1970sarteaga Yea but, what i mean is, if it started in April how is it that the flood didn't happen until May? If the flood started in April shouldn't it have occured in April and was over by May? Is it a flood that happend in April or May? Because if it started in May then maybe it would have occurred in April. But it didn't happen that way. It actually happened reverse. Or did it? Gosh, this is so confusing.

@iBlowYouKisses God Bless your family affected by the storm. My daughter lived in Memphis Mobile City and it flooded and they lost everything, vehicles and all. My boyfriends car was there and lucky we were 10 minutes down the road between Millington & Frayser where it wasn't quite as bad but still bad. Hope your family "weathers" alright.
