军大刀 Jun Da Dao: Chinese Military Machete

The Chinese Military Machete or Da Dao is very useful and lethal in close quarter combat. The Defense of the Great Wall in 1933 by Chinese soldiers immortalized the da dao as the symbol of Chinese resistance against Japanese invaders. The effectiveness of the dao is so great that Japanese soldiers were issued with iron collars to protect their necks but they offered very little protection from the blows of the dao.
