Ashford and Simpson were my favorite duo during my teen and college years. Until this day, their music in incomparable. I had the opportunity to speak to Nick at an airport once. He was genuinely humble and kind. My utmost sypathy for Valerie and family.*** Nick and Val fans need to check out their recordings of Genius, One More Baby Child Born, and Benjie.

By far the best duo/songwriting husband and wife team of ALL TIME. Send it; Is It Still Good to Ya; Street Corner; Solid As A Rock; It Seems to Hang On and those are the songs they sang. Countless other hits for other artist. Very classic, they didn"t need the media or the papparrizzi to hype it their career. Their music spoke loud and clear. Beautiful black love (you don't even here that term anymore) and beautiful music. Classy duo, classy music.

okay...now I'm gonna have to pull out the old Ashford and Simpsons albums I have.....they wrote and sang a song called Gimme Something Real and that used to break me up everytime I heard it. I love this song too. I cannot believe Nick was 69 or 70yrs old!!

Oh my what a beautiful ballad ,remember seeing them in the 70;'s at the old Aerial theater , now the verizon, he sat playing the piano and a single spotlight illumianted Val , oh they were so awesome and terrific in concert. What a beautiful couple , God Bless and Rip Nickolas Ashford.
