Balcony mini tiptorial - Sims 3

Hello. Ok well when I try and build a balcony on my sims 3 it won't let me put a door >:| and I've tried building it two ways: With the walls supporting it or with the columns but nothing works for me:/ but when I try and clicking on where I want the door it'll say something like it needs to be on floor but I don't understand!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME:(

Thnx Flip Guardian for the video tutorial. It is excellent now I understand it. Thnx for taking the time to send it to me. I would like to know what programs use to create for your sims game. Send me some more tutorials guide on buidling when you can. Keep doing a good job.
