I actually didnt connect the two songs in my head even though I knew this was a cover. Duffy has a unique talent and Im not picking favourites but it would make a good album track as she completely reinterpreted the song.

I think its the best thing she's ever done, it doesn't have much in common with the hot chip song and i think that's a good thing because as pieces of music this is superior in almost every way. If not for the words this would be a compeletely original.

Duffys song is another (better) version of 'Ready for the floor' so I think that's the reason why you are thinking that you heard these chorus before :)

Yes, I know the Hot Chip original, but I recently heard again an R & B song with a woman singer that sounded very similar to this arrangement (although different lyrics and not acoustic) and I think that Duffy may have used this in her arrangement here.

I hope she retains her natural quality and that the producers don't talk her out of it in time- she's got a nice combo of cute/scratchy/slow trilled and that light white sound you don't expect to hear in those strong earthy voices of R&B - if she listens to a little more Julie Andrews and Petula Clark rather than Aretha Franklin or Beyonce

well another example for duffys talent. she found her voice fitting style. at 2003 she was not that good cause of bad choosing titles not fitting her voice. i love her voice. and the person duffy at all. the girl duffy even. she has more sexapeal in her fingers than rihanna in her hole body...just a wondeful woman with a voice as same as her hole being, her inerself. i wish i will find a gilr like her...my dreamgirl...:-)))) Like Blondie has been singing: DREAMING IS FREE!!!!
