The new Mark VII trains look nice, but they are horrible. The new seating arrangement sucks and they are constantly breaking down. Although they have already fixed the window issue, the trains originally did not have sufficient airflow to keep the passengers cool. WDI should not be in the business of designing monorails.
The problem is that a WDW monorail is too large to fit on the DL beamway.
What DL should have done is contract with Bombardier, the builder of the WDW monorails. That would have prevented 95% of the technical and design problems they are having today.
I don't understand how using parts from an old train will make new trains last longer. Also, the old Mark IV trains from WDW are history. Not sure how AC units from those larger trains would work on the Mark VIIs anyway.
Trust me, there are far more important issues with the Mark VIIs than just AC.
The VIIs just need to run their course. Hopefully, someone with half a brain at Disney will realize that future monorail designs should be left in more capable hands.
the last time I've ridden the Mark IV was the time that I rode it from MGM grand to Balley in Las Vegas it was in summer of 2000, they bought 2 of them from WDW and had it untill the extended the Monorail track through out the city of vegas yes they have working ac because you can't open any of the windows on the Mark IV.
But you do understand that parts from the Mark IV's aren't interchangeable with the Mark VII's, right? Disneyland's beamway is much smaller and probably wouldn't be able to handle the added weight of AC units with a fully loaded train.
Amazing

totaly agree, they should have bought the bombardier, instead of designing their own.
