Lovely! Have you to prepay anchorage or does a-wee-man-in-a-boat sail around early in the morning to catch the sneaky people who arrive late and think they'll get away before pay-up time? If you stop a boat in Ireland you owe someone money and you won't get away without paying...and, believe me, I've tried. In fact, the holiday game became fee avoidment but they had seen all our cunning plans before, I think.
@baconsoda Thanks Brendan. There is no charge for anchoring with your own anchor (anywhere around here). The state of WA maintains mooring buoys in many places for which there is a charge. It's fairly reasonable at $10, I think, but I prefer my own anchor, and to spend the $10 on a bottle of wine, lol.
Love the sailing vid's !! I think that bird in the tree was a Herron we have them here in New England in the summers. It seems very peaceful and quiet a good getaway for a few days. Looking forward to Part 2 !! Thanks
@dalecalder2003 Yes, summertime can get pretty thick with pleasure boats, especially when the weather is fine. Lots of charter boats out there too so you sometimes meet people from all over.
@19Photographer76 Thanks, I'll do that. The camera kept telling me to use a cleaning tape, which I don't have. That message suddenly stopped and all seemed well again so maybe I had a piece of dirt in there somewhere. Winds are usually light in the summer although it's quite variable out in the Islands. The ferry's are traveling at 12 knots or more so create their own wind.
Sorry for asking (im norwegian) is this a lake or out in the sea? anyway i love your boat and hope you have a good sailingvacation=) cheers from Norway!
@NorwegianGardener It's in Puget Sound and the Pacific Ocean. There are some similarities here and the waters around Norway/Sweden, etc. Warmer here though, usually.

@DBIGMAN812MANY You could be right. I'm no bird expert for sure. Thanks.

A beautiful day on the water. Some of the scenery looked similar to around here. A lot more pleasure boats than you would see around here though.

Look up how to correct issues with interlacing, you might be able to salvage the first leg of your trip.
Is the lack of wind normal for July? When we've been on the Ferry's from Port Townsend or Anacortes, it always seemed to be blowing?
