Anyway, If you like this then please check my remix of videotapes I am not asking you to tell all your friends its just that dubstepforum forum is blocked because im at school anyway long story short please just give me FEEDBACK!!! Its the first song i made and i am still finding my sound though.
Fucking killer song!!! Man this takes me back!!! The vocals make me think of some late 80's Detroit House. Fucking beautiful!!! I'm 40 and witnessed it. As for those ragging about the vocals they don't get it and probably never got it. R&S always. Arthur Cayzer props to you. This is brilliant.
can't stop listening to this tune bastard. for music on yyoutube there should be stonker/stinker instead of like/dislike. definite stonker this, yeah.
Yep listen to some synkro. Slightly less deep (i cant think of a better word but there definitely is one) than burial and pariah but fucking good all the same
@pikeymobile Can't say I've heard of them, I'll check em out. I didn't neccesarily have a problem with the heavy tracks, but some people took it a bit too seriously.
Coki is a genius in his own right, it takes alot to have your own spin on a genre and for it to do well, its the fans that ruin dubstep with there overly opinionated views being posted on every blog n utube vid. if u like the more chilled stuff then buy it and support the producers who create it. dubstep is music at around 140bpm, it can be anything within that bracket, if it was all the same it wouldn't grow or reach others. just saying.....
ok, dubstep is a very broad term, encompassing a lot of other genres... including but not limited to garage. you can pick out dubstep by the two-time syncopated beats with a snare on the third beat, like in this song. so yes this is dubstep (not brostep), but then again you can also call it 2step-garage if you want, because the genres are almost interchangeable.
@mikemoore11121 this isnt dubstep retard, why are you dropping dubstep in to try and make yourself look cool? this is garage at its pureist and finest, stick to your dubstep pop remakes mate
was listening to this tonight, walking home in the cold in a big coat with the headphones on walking home in the am, pure emotion, one of the best vibes
great tune. alot of people imitating this sound right now and there's only a few keeping it fresh. Pariah's definitely one of them, check him out playing in London for only £4 on 17th Sept:
@Simon0Brien i respect your opinion and everything but you cant write off a whole genre, paticularly when it influenced pretty much all english music at the moment
@djredi2step sorry I should be more specific... I am a fan of dubstep and appriciate it's rise to mainstream.. and obviously there is heaps around the genre, but when I think garage, I think horrible ''Urban'' kind of music from 2000-05... Maybe I'm wrong of the def. of garage but I'd seperate it from dub,,, for me garage means annoying drums samples, the kind of music made from music demos from a ceral box......
I never liked the garage of the early 2000's as a kid but dubstep probably wouldn't exist or be what it is today without garage. Many of the original dubstep DJ's used to be garage - namely Skream.
It's getting a lot more intelligent though - Burial, Pariah, Synkro, Dom HZ
@martinmerl BTW I love Pariah... All I was saying was I don't like Garage, so naturally if I've no interest in It I wouldn't know much about it.... If the garage line in this was a slow deep bassline I'd prefare it much more
Sample is from Thelma Houston if I'm not mistaken

@dtbails What part? The female vocal is Thelma Houston ("Don't Leave Me this Way")
But the small vocal sample (1:20) is something else. Not sure what, but I do know it.

I hear the dub, and I hear the two-step garage. This is what DUB-STEP SHOULD be.
If only everyone didn't take 'coki's 'spongebob' so fucking seriously when it came out! That is the track that ruined dubstep
Atetrakz 1 year ago 30
@Atetrakz Vex'd and Distance were making heavier dubstep than Spongebob in 2005, I'd say they're more directly responsible
