No not at all. It would help if you did know how to cheer but it dont really matter as long as you can learn fast. SOme people never ever cheered like the woo woos and they come from stunting and traditional style cheerin so dont worry about it just go out there and do your best and you have a great chance just like everyone else

I am sorry to hear that you didn't make it this year. But, please be sure to tryout again next year. I know it was probably alot of talented girls that tried out and unfortunately, they can't keep them all. But, I am sure that she picked what she thought was best for next years squad (Dr. Johnson) and I believe that they only lost 2 girls off of last years squad due to graduation. Keep a postitive mind and try out again next year. Atleast you now know what to expect. Those girls really work hard

Good Luck to you if you tryout. Just remember that these are some hardworking young woman as I am quite sure you are aware of. They do alot of community activities as well. Its not all about the cheering. Plus, they invest in MANY HOURS of PRACTICE and HARDWORK on and off the field. The coach looks for the 3 A's and they are:

Attitude, Atheltics and Most of all Academics!!! These things are very important. Again, I wish you the best!!! Many all called upon but only a few are actually chosen.

That isn't true. VSU has a 4yr degree in Nursing. It was established about 4 years ago. As a matter of fact, it just graduated its first 4year students last year if I am not mistaken. You may want to follow up on that information but I am sure they offer a 4 year degree in Nursing. Plus, try for some of the scholarships that are offered at the school. I am sure if it will help with the expenses your mother will become alot more supportive. Give it a try!!! Best of luck!!! VSU is a great school.

Yes, they do!!! And you will hear it once you go to the initial meeting for tryouts. Normally, they don't have any uniforms that go over a size (8). That is a known fact!!! These girls are the crim of the crop and they spend alot of time working out during the summer practices and all year round. They take being a VSU Cheerleader (Woo-Woo) very serious. They are a very tight group of intelligent, beautiful young woman that are widely respected on the campus of VSU. Good luck to you if you tryout
