the Turbo satisfies those who want a 911 but who don't want to be common. Real reason is the turbo being an alternative & safer car to the demonchild GT3. Both are flashier than standard, which is the underlying reason for wanting a sexier 911 for most. Turbo's 4WD allows owners to look good despite being Noobs.GT3 is 25k less, 25k that will inevitably go towards a GT3-related medical bill if owned. So its the agony & trauma of operating a GT3 that makes those who want a flashier 911 get a Turbo

Trust me, a GT-R's a more useable daily car (and it's faster). I've sat in both cars (including the back seats)... not even a competition. For some reason, the back seats of the Porsche want you to sit FULLY vertical. My little brother, at 4'10" and <90 lbs, said it was too cramped. GT-R isn't a Maybach, but it is livable.

p.s. that being said, both EASILY beat the F430 (especially the scuderia) in terms of practicality.

@gamer7790 The transaxle failure that was common due to the launch control is no longer an issue and using launch control currently will not void the warranty. but the way they "fixed" the trans axle failure problem is a reprogrammed VDC that instead of launching the car at 4,500 RPM it is now set to launch at a measly 2,000 RPM. The only way to get full launch capability now it to turn the VDC off which still voids the warranty. Have fun with your fake supercar.

@thebluemaggot In the 2012 GT-R, they have a new feature called R-Mode, that doesn't void the warranty. The car climbs to 4,000 RPM for 3 seconds then the brake is released which will launch the car to 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Look it up before you post useless comments.

@superjump01 Manufacturers like to make up excuses. The GT-R runs low times at almost every circuit, Its time at the Ring is no surprise. The viper is considerably lighter and more powerful than the GT-R, yet it's only 2 seconds faster around an 8 minute circuit. Also look at how much the GT-R costs compared to all the cars you mentioned.

Some supercars, like the ford GT, have the same engine as a ford pickup truck. All they do is change the electronics and add components to add more air and fuel to make it go faster!
