@xRiChTaStiC u can have more than 4 squads. in a game with better players u can see up too 7 squads in play or even more. and in my oppinion its closer to the real tabletop. u will never see huge battles with 10000 space marines anymore that was in the crusades.. space marines are more surgical than they used to be. and the smaller squads allow for far more tactics rather than outmassing the opposition.

Its the ONLY RTS that has persistent bodies and the first game EVER to utilize the reinforcement system and was also one of the first to use squads, instead of individual troopers. DoWI is the forefather of all proper RTS, not saying DoWII is shit, but DoWI is the forefather.

@minvydaaas454 dude the Tau's greater Good mean's you must do what ever the Tau Ethereal tells you to do and nothing else. the Tau's greater good is the purest form conformity and is you don't join them they will force you to join them.

"anyone can defeat them" have you ever heard of the "Damocles Crusade" the Imperium nearly wiped out the Tau empire form space , but because of the incoming Tyranid hive fleet they had to leave and was not able to finish the job.

That's High Gothic. A mix up of a number of Earth's languages, one of them is Latin.

It's not a "real" language that can be translated, but in this track it's awesome sounding Gibbrish that emphasizes it.

Though it is true they don't listen to the music, lol, it should be noted that the Exorcists chapter of space marines chant litanies of High Gothic while they fight demons.

the guard are meant to mainly hold the imperiums worlds together while the space marines either defend more key areas or retake a planet, not that they dont go on conquests of their own, just the space marines are more suitable for it, the only thing really stopping the imperium from a 2nd great crusade is the risk and fears of a second great betrayal like the horus heresy, hence why the marines are so few in number.

@BloodDX2 not only they limit the number of battle brothers in each chapter to prevent a second betrayal, meaning no chapter can have more than 1 thousand marines. they have shortage of proper equipment due to the Imperium deteriorating technology (most equipments are built based on rituals. Bolter ammunition, for instance, is blessed by the Techpriests during its production).

I read somewhere that Terminator armors, for example, are treated as heirlooms coz they're so difficult to produce.

@BloodDX2 The guard is the hammer and the anvil, the Marines are a scalpel. There are still Crusader chapters such as the Black Templar's. The Astartes were never meant to replace the guard, just bolster them. And there is no way for a second great crusade, if there was a boss to unite all the Orks, the Imperium would be overrun within a few years. And I doubt that the Imerium would be able to use the Necron tech, due to the church.

@OdinReaver but thats the problem witht he Orks, there is no boss like that. Remember how the Great crusade went, the space marines were legion in number. If the High lords of Terra were to commission all chapters to be returned to legions in size, the orks, tyranids, and all other races would be crushed by the Space Marine Legions awesome power further backed by the guard. The only thing stopping that is the risk of a second betrayal like i said before.

@BloodDX2 Gazghkull is about as big as the Ork that throttled the emperor. And that Black Templar champion of the Emperor was punked by a smaller nameless warboss. Gazghkull himself can kill any of the Emperor's servants in terms of fluff pretty easily. Yarrick only does as well as he does because Gazghkull likes him.

@BloodDX2 Their not as few as you think there are over 1,000 chapters in the Imperium each with a ideal strength of 1,000 marines. If you included all the support personnel, serfs, and slaves. That would give you 1 million marines not including the chapter command units, the non combatant and naval personnel of each chapter, or chapters with more then a thousand marines such as Black Templar and Grey Knights.

@BloodDX2 The thing with marines and this is the true legacy of the Horus Heresy at least for the Adeptus Astartes... Is that they will not organize them into Legions anymore they are to be broken down into chapters and each chapter is lead by a chapter master. Besides their are no more active primarchs so they wouldn't have anyone to lead a Space Marine Legion anyway. Haha!
