I think it's pretty unfair that everyone's criticising these guys. I agree they're not the greatest players in the world. They want to learn this art form because they enjoy it and want to get better, that's the point of Jazz Workshops. Everyone has to start somewhere. Then again, I suppose all the people who've left negative comments get some sort of ego boost from making anonymous people feel small. It seems pretty strange to me. You're all egotistical, small minded idiots.

some of the worst crap i ever listened to (why did i ???) did anyone hear of a guy called Werner Poehlert, who brought out a book of pentatonic improvisation based on mediants? kind of reminds me of music school 2nd year ensemble. nice jingle bells quote from the piano. where the hell was this video taken? and yes, it's a disgrace to anyone who is involved in harmonic improvisation....

yeah piano player sounds solid overall, he moved down a notch in my book after the jingle bells part of the solo but overall not bad at all. the other players, thats another issue.

I think the piano player knows what he's doing. Both the alto and tenor player have made some attempt at bop phrasing, using pentatonics, etc, fair play to them.The drummer certainly is making a decent fist of the blakey shuffle thing. The trumpet player should worry about his/her own bag, for sure.

yea at least some of em are playing throught the changes...but the way the trumpet player handled the tempo slowing down is very unprofessional, kinda just made her look like an ass

hey people take it easy - they're not professionals. at least they are playing music and not wackin off all day waiting to retire. music isn't just meant for people that it comes naturally to at a young age - its for everyone to enjoy and perform.
