  • Hey, Bob,

Great job! You do great reviews!

But I wanted to ask you something: Does KnivesTown have the Hawke's Hallion? Because I didn't see any review of that knife. If you have one, can you do a review of it? I would appreciate it! :)

  • @g10rg0s8574 You and I both want the answer to that one. My distributors dont have any and I cant get any firm date on when they may be coming. All I can say is we will offer them as soon as we have access.

  • hi bob, I just wanted to post this on knivestown's most recent video hoping you will see it, but when will you be restocking the emerson cqc-15 bts. I am planning on buying one (or two :) ) and want to know when they will be available. Thank you for your time and great videos.

  • wow i want that knife and im 14 haha

  • good video. nice knife. why is it that your gerber has the extra wide, finger lock, the ramp you are talking about. whereas the 2 gerbers i own,and all the other gerbers i have seen, have just a thin bar to lock and unlock the blade?

  • @jodavidable It is an old video. The knife being made is slightly different now in those kind of details, but overall is still the same great knife..

  • Good knife.

  • my uncle bought me this years ago. great knife..wish i could find it haha.

  • Is it possible to reverse the position of the pocket clip for left hand carry?

  • Very nice knife.

  • do u have the green handled one

  • Pretty good looking knife there, but how would you compare it to some of the other combat folders out there on the market?

  • I have one of these. I agree with the reviewer- its very rugged and ergonomically well thought out, however its not very sharp. I'd be afraid to pull it in self defense. Its more of a power thrust stabber and some slashing if you have some muscle behind it. My CRKT is brutally sharp and I wouldn't be afraid to do some self defnse slashing, however doesn't feel as substantial in the hand as the Applegate Fairbairn.

  • do these knifes cut or are they for collection? plz reply

  • @AngryFootMageFIlms NOT just made for looking at, these knives are cutters. They are made for cutting and are not just drawer queens.

  • @AngryFootMageFIlms they are for cutting, Gerber doesnt joke around with their products, and in fact, im sure theyd be dissapointed if you just showcased them instead of putting them to use.

  • @curaidh I think that guy is a sheeple, trying to be a sheepdog...

  • What drives me nuts is that tactical knives are only as good as their handle. When sweat or blood gets on them, if the handle isn't good, the knife is worthless.

Problem is, there are very few tactical knives with adequate grips.

  • @birthdaymatt i agree MOST of them are just average knives now but the ones that are still made in USA are great knives !

  • I can believe that but my local retailers carry mostly chinese gerbers. my one Gerber purchase was dissapointing. My CKRT are not special either. I have done better with Kershaw, Sog, Cold Steel in fixed blades. There is a lot of crap to sift through till you find the good stuff on the market.

  • @birthdaymatt cold steel is probably THE best knives on the market right now. there more expensive blades rival 2-3 grand customs for a far better price

  • Check out my collection. Type in "Collection of knives, cold steel etc" for my vid. Not sure otherwise how to send it to you...

  • Hmm no handguard? Nice letter opener thought

  • Well, I have one of these great knives, and it's awesome, however, the sheath sucks. The velcro wore out on mine in no time, now the knife wants to just fall out. Needs a better sheath, but other than that, great blade for fighting. Have excellent weight distribution as well.

  • sweet my last names Gerber

  • My last names Sodomiah .... Yeah thats right, SODOMIAH!

  • Comment removed

  • I just bought my Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Covert. It has about 1mm of vertical blade play. I was really disappointed about that.

  • Does the knife have some vertical or horizontal play?

  • No, none at all.

  • hey are these the real knives by gerber or are they remakes buy knives town and how long does the gerber fast draw ship to canada?

  • Yes, these are the real thing. These are genuine, brand new OEM Gerber knives. Knives Town does not ship outside the U.S. sorry.

  • what do you think is a better knife the gerber applegate fairbairn or a cold steel ti-light with a 4 inch blade?

  • This because this isnt made by a fat guy who chops up meat with sorwds in tight black shorts.

  • I have both, and I definitely like the Gerber better. The Ti-Lite is a little too thick and bulky to carry without noticing it too much.

  • you can hardly recomend it lol

  • That's "heartily" recommend it. Sorry for not being clear.

  • Great video. I have owned mine

for a year and now know a couple

more things about it thanks to you.

  • That IS a very smooth action!!

  • It is not a spring assist knife.

  • is that thing spring loaded assisted opening/

  • Nice folding knife version of the Applegate-Fairbairn dagger (one of the best fighting knives ever made).

  • Very nice knife... I like the liner lock!

I just bought a Gerber Torch II G-10 Tanto

Ill probably be doing a review around next week.

  • Did they ever fix the line lock on these? On my first gen, if you whack the top edge against a surface, the blade will fold back into the handle. Obviously, that would be bad.

  • large coldsteel voyager most likely can. but if your fighting terrorists fuck folders and go fixed blade dagger (coldsteel taipan)

  • Excellent piece of equipment-best designed and most useful folder EVER.

  • do u have any dalton knives for sale?

  • compared to the picture of the Fairbairn-Sykes knife on its Wikipedia page, this looks like a toy.

  • I'd get this knife if Rex Applegate's signature wasn't plaguing the blade.... Jesus, what a shame..

  • Where do you order it? I Totally want one!!

  • i got mine at cabelas but i got the smaller version and that was thirty i think and that one was like 60 or something

  • dang, they don't got those in canada

  • I had the a First Run of the Covert model ("First run" was stamped on the blade). The screws on the belt clip snapped while I was hiking. The clip and 1/2 of the screws fell in my pocket.. the knife.. lost. Really disappointing for a knife of that cost.

  • What blade steel is that? Also the gimping (is that how you spell it?) on the blade looks bad since it seems your thumb can slip off and slide across the swedge. Even though the swedge isn't sharpened, it still won't feel good when you slide your thumb accross it. Overall the knife looks nice though.

  • The steel is "425 Modified". This is a 400 series stainless that is a middle of the road steel suitable to a high production knife such as this. It will take a medium sharp edge but maybe not hold it as long. It can resharpen easily and is quite corrosion resistant. It is tough and can withstand abuse too so there are benefits and tradeoffs. You give a little and get a little. Overall it is a good steel and will be dependable and tough and is sharp enough to get the job done it was made for.

  • Hey I've recently gotten an Applegate Gerber combat folder as well. However the liner lock seems different on mine. As I'm an amateur at knives, I don't know much but the liner lock on mine doesn't seem to be made to be pushed to the side. In fact, the only way it can move is vertically over the metal that the liner lock is situated on. I somehow managed to get the blade out but I can't seem to get it back in. Please, if you know anything about this type of lock, I'd like some assistance.

  • I really can't guess what it is you are encountering. It almost sounds like the knife you have has a secondary lock on it which must be disengaged before the blade can be closed. Are you sure it is a Gerber Combat Folder? The Gerber Applegate knife has no such secondary lock and the liner lock is easily disengaged by pushing it to the side as I show in the video. Sorry I'm not more help.

  • I think I know what u r talking about. The knife has 2 locks a Linerlock and a interlock safety catch on the top in the the finger groove. Pull the tab on top back and then push the linerlock located at the bottom in the other finger groove to the left an close knife. The one in the video is unusual and different from mine. First time I've seen one aside from the mini with just a linerlock. Hope this helps:).

  • I've heard this is a well made knife and well worth the money. The only thing that stopped me from buying this knife was the fact that Gerber dosen't offer a choice of a plain edge blade.
