  • why would any pilot touch down so late!! The should have called for "max thrust/power, positive rate, gear up, flaps up" and gone around.

  • @bennyworldwide he wasn't trying to land. It was an air show, he was doing a low approach. Suppose to be at 100ft but somehow end up around 46ft which was below the bushes at the end of the runway and resulted in a crash.

  • @dark8spirits wrong flight,Air France Flight 358, a flight from Paris, France, to Toronto, Canada, using an Airbus A340 airliner, departed Paris without incident at 11:53 UTC 2 August 2005, later touching down on runway 24L-06R at Toronto Pearson International Airport at 20:01 UTC (16:01 EDT). The aircraft failed to stop on the runway and plunged into the nearby Etobicoke Creek, coming to rest and bursting into flames approximately 300 metres past the end of the runway

  • @bennyworldwide it was very foggy weather :D

  • where do they get these anims?

  • @CodeGreen47 lmgtfy.com/?q=ntsb+animations

  • @danielkang1234 lal 'where's my cheese' and 'page not found' :\

  • google NTSB Animations

  • @danielkang1234 i did, and I enter the website and it still says wheres my cheese :((((

  • @CodeGreen47 GOOGLE IT, FIRST LINK.

  • @danielkang1234 IT DOESN'T WORK!!

  • @CodeGreen47 THAT'S WHERE I GOT IT FROM; IT MIGHT NOT WORK ANYMORE

  • go around?

  • im confused. What was wrong

  • @mrcolosalp The pilots became disorientated as they approached the airport in bad weather, meaning the plane touched down with less than half the runway remaining. The plane then overran the end of the runway.

  • @sardanaphalus oh ok thanks i didnt get it at first

  • hahaha fucking french.

  • 0:53 opened thrust reversers late

  • I'm sure this is by the TSB... Big difference... the NTSB had no authority in investigating the AF358 crash. It is also very hard to picture everything that was going on. There was a very heavy downpour, from a hurricane that I cannot remember.

    @jmr604

This is similar from a distance. The difference is, the weather was stressing and the pilot flying (the Co-pilot) should have aborted the landing, but as humans do, he made a mistake.

  • @maxudaskin Nope, the NTSB investigates most major accidents around the world, even if it has no direct link to the accident. Especially so in English speaking countries. If the NTSB is offering help, why would you turk them down?

  • @blueb0g Because, no American airline operates the A340.

  • @maxudaskin So? You'd deny the help of an agency with as much experience as the NSTB over that?

  • @blueb0g Yes. They have no authority to investigate this incident. There is no benefit to them to investigate it. Of course we would allow them to help, but why would they offer to help? Don't get me wrong, but Americans are not necessarily better than Canadians, or any other country for that matter.

  • @maxudaskin As an American I agree. I think the NTSB goes to learn also. New techniques and whatnot. Even though they have no authority outside U.S. borders they are frequently invited or they request to be there.

  • @maxudaskin it has nothing to do with the aircraft type. if you were high and fast your cessna would go off the end of the runway too.

  • @beergut111 I never said they overran because it was an airbus.

  • @blueb0g I don't think I'd ever turk them down. Turking someone down is just rude. I was once turked down for a date and it really hurt my feelings ... and it wasn't even a Turk that did it, it was a Greek.

  • @AllenRockwell ... well played

  • @maxudaskin ahahahah toronto doesn't have hurricanes.

  • go around

  • Compared with other NTSB animations this one is quite bad. Watching this, one cannot say if the aircraft is rolling on the runway or if it is flying above it.

  • Same thing happened in Chicago Mid-way with Southwest.... they fucked up.

  • many mistakes...just like what i see from some flight simmer guys landing an airplane.

  • It's not from NTSB !

  • @aardvark2zz your not from the ntsb!

  • @aardvark2zz this is what the NTSB makes smart one

  • @JATO457 lol.... if the NTSB uses a crapy program like this, We're Fucked

  • @thereallicko actually i got it off their website

  • @danielkang1234 show proof

  • @thereallicko they actually use a better program to find out what happened. This is what they use to show it.

  • @thereallicko

You do realize this isn't Avatar. The point isn't to make it look good. Also, usually the people that makes these animations are under time constraints and aren't bothered to add details.

  • @thereallicko all they need is a program to reenact al lthe info that is put in it. no big deal. why waste money on eye candy
