lol " Hey you! may i ask just what the hell you were doing on OUR property?" "slaawb." " what did you call me??" hahaha he calldja a slob, ya fuckin jerk!
and another thing in defense of this films "genuine-ness", other than the actual recording of manson's "mechanical man" early on in the film, at the begining of the film, the disclaimer says that its based on the news reports and testimonies that were made public at the time, long before tex watsons' book came out, long before the finalised version of susans' account of the crimes, so based on that information, this film is VERY accurate, isnt it.
as far as movies and entertainment are concerned, i think this one is quite good. the photography is great, the editing and directing give this film an eeerie french-noir feel at times and is very artistic. the parts we dont see, of the rock concert out in the desert is a very trippy scene. the scene here when the killers are staring at sharon was excellently edited and is very creepy. one can feel her fear. i gather it takes a decidedly MATURE viewer to see the horror and beauty of this film.
i didnt know there were so many EYE WITNESSES at cielo drive that night! evrything we know of that night, save for a cuple bloody finger prints, found bloody clothes, revolver, msgs in blood, comes from the mouths of the killers, whos versions all slightly differ. there is even debate over weather it was susan or tex that stabbed sharon.susan originally claimed to have stabbed her, but in 1976, said it was tex who stabbed her. my point? only the killers and the dead victims know the truth.
Yea, um, the end made me think of the reefer madness movie and the others like it, trying to warn the viewers about youth and drugs. These actions and scenes did have to do with drugs, but it wasn't solely based on lsd, reefer, stp, dmt and other drugs. It also had a lot to do with the situation they were facing in their lives and the world around them.
The film does not capture the chaos of the murders. If you read Tex Watson's account, it was an out of control scene with screaming and violent struggles. The movie makes it appear way more calm than the actual event.
Yeah, um, the incredibly fake stabbing and shooting really minimizes the whole ordeal and how gruesome is was...Um, it kind of belittles it. I mean, you have to give them credit for making SOME form of movie just a year after it happened but this is kind of bad. :|
@Cheetahsmonk "boring"?? what is "boring" about an account of a pregnant woman being violently stabbed to death, or the gutteral sounds gibbys character made in her death scene? i think "boring" is a decidedly disturbing word to describe this film, no matter how inacurrate you feel it is. it is also disturbing how very little do people flinch at violent murder scenes like these. why would you even want to see exactly what happened in that house that night? do you understand what im saying?
