why do they let the bow swing down all funny like that after the shot?

@pwjm Because the bow isnt grasped by the fingers, the tension from the drawn string holds it against the hand.. therefore when the arrow is released there is no pressure holding the bow in the hand and it swings down... its kept on the hand by a small hand sling.. Hope that helps.. better late than never!!
